Hi,
I am using adaplene gel on all over my face for acne and major acne scars on alternate days and give break of 1-2 days in between. My skin is peeling which is okay..but on my face I am kind of developing very hard scaly patches on different areas which is slight brown and very dry without any pain or hot feeling (i mean not inflamed) and it seems that from their skin will peel eventually ..My question is Is it okay to have this? and should I continue to use adaplene gel and will it be fine in long run?
Please advise me. Now I am using cellexC hydraB5 gel and J &B alphaderma C&C vitamin C serum along with adaplene.

In morning I first use vitamin C serum wait for 10 min then cellexC hydraB5 gel then again wait and apply sunscreen(clinique 40 supercity)

At night I wash with citaphil wait then apply hydraB5 gel then wait for 10 min and then apply adaplene. On alternate day I switch adaplene with Vitamin C serum. In few days I will be using clinique continuous rescue antioxidant moisturizer in morning routine.
Please let me know if i am doing right or need to change something...
I really appreciate your help!!!

Yes, that's the typical reaction of differin (the brown leathery flaky dry patch) but it's possible that's also the reaction of Vit C or HydraB5 because I have gotten from all of them. How long have you used Differin and Vit C and HydraB5 gel? Please don't introduce other new products to your skin until you give ONE product at least 3-4 weeks. Px retinol and vit C are both fairly strong and can take a while to show up. When you break out or your skin gets so irritated you won't know which product to blame. Please have patience to test out one product at a time. Otherwise, just ignore my warning if you've been using everything for a while.
Yes, the order you're using is correct. Also, HydraB5 HA serves to "intensify" your vit C while "buffer" your Differin. It's good that you wait 10 minutes after cleansing to apply products. I wait at least 15-20 minutes too. Make sure you're not using other "drying/exfoliators" products (bha, aha, sulfur, clay,bp,etc.) while using Differin and Vit C as you will then get too much exfoliation which is not good. Your skin turns over too quickly w/o giving it a chance to heal will result in red/sensitive/broken-out skin. Make sure you moisturize because the dryness will catch up to you eventually. HTH.

ive personally used both retin A and differin and found differin to be more gentle than retin A but i still feel differin isnt as powerful as the other. whats other peoples views.
