First and foremost, I'd like to thank SourApple for the mole removal technique using garlic and a tooth pick. I used it on a skin tag I had on the upper corner of my head (from my tanning days) and it came off. problem is a small black scab formed over it that cannot be covered with foundation.

I have a few party events coming up and I'm wondering what should be done with it. Obviously picking it off is out of the question. How long does it take for scabs to heal. Any suggest on how to make it heal and possibly peel off faster?

Although I am not familar with a "black" scab such as you describe, I am guessing since you used the garlic method to remove a tag, the scab is deep, since I am sure the garlic ate the he(double toothpicks) out of your skin, but at any rate I have two suggestions.

1) Try using a warm rag on the scab, several times a day. Don't try to "remove" the scab, you are just softening it up. Every time you soften it up, apply neosporin to the scab. Do this several times a day. What happens is the softening up of the scab, allows the neosporin to penetrate the skin underneath, this way the "new" skin will grow, when that happens the scab will fall off. The scab is there only to protect the new skin while it grows. This could take up to 4-5 days depending on how often you are able to do it.

2) AND if your events are sooner than that, you could always make the scab look like a mole, with a little eye pencil, and no on will ever know...Remember to dust it with your face powder (if you wear it) to make it look more natural. Good Luck Very Happy
