I know this sounds weird, but have any of you tried making your own amber Lightstim, Baby Quasar, etc? Lots of amber leds out there, just wondering if anyone has tried.

Our R & D guy made me a Quasar SP look alike with 523nm LEDs.

Believe me, it's not that easy. You may end up with lots of burnt LEDs.

Too bad when I was in school that girls took home economics instead of shop--now if I just had some good metal shop skills, I bet I could whip up something like that!

Where did you read 730nm ?
Is it a plastic amber cover over a white led ?
There are those who offer LED lights for healing. Heelspurs.com
I have wondered, can there be "medical grade" LEDs ?
I love your determination.

I put in the search for amber led and it came back in the search part as 730nm, which surprised the heck out of me. Don't know if it's a plastic cover, will have to look a bit more.

730nm is IR, you won't be able to see the light. Amber is 595 nm.

the lights out on the market have red infrared leds? Aren't those the lights that you don't want to look at or have shined in your eyes because of the optical damage?

Zyggy,I found this web site to make your own.

http://www.missionignition.net/bms/led_heal.php
Let us know if you put one together.

The sites that sell LEDs for skincare are so expensive. It would be interesting to know the actual cost...or maybe not. Shock

I read some time ago that not all kind of LEDs suitable for LED treatments. I do not know what exactly makes them suitable beyond joules and wavelengths. There might be some other characteristics that contribute to the quality of LEDs. Something to look into...
