Just spent the time to use Lauren Hutton Face Disc.

Watched Lauren's video. She is really beautiful. Very natural mature woman. Could actually see her crows feets. Shock She herself started with a clean face and made herself up with the disc.

After hubby went to bed I went to work. Lauren said it takes 10 minutes to make yourself up. It took me approximately 20 minutes. Started with lip balm 2. spot concealer 3. light concealer (reflects light from facial shadows) 4. contouring shadow 5. blush 6. brows 7. Pooch & nose (retracts fat deposits eye area) and straightens and shortens nose if needed) 8. eyeliner 9. lips.

I did all of the above sitting in a lounge chair with a magnetic mirror as I had to take off my glasses to apply.

After I did all the steps I really thought this is rediculous. Looked in the bathroom mirror with glasses on. I looked BEAUTIFUL. I looked like I did not have any makeup on. I felt really pretty and looked at least five years younger. I just used the disc that has everything in it. I did not use a foundation.

You can use a foundation first or use a powder after completion.

Lauren Huttons products are recommended for woman over 40. If I were 20 again I would use it. It just makes you look pretty without a madeup look.

Thank you Trish. Best Makeup recommendation. I did not get the brushes yet. I have so many brushes and used to using them so I was just fine.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The video alone is worth the money. I never knew how to contour my facial features. Dancing

Glad you got great results. I bought the face disk last year directly from Lauren's web site (laurenhutton.com) and did like the results. However, she has terrible customer service! I ordered a face disc "package" which was some sort of special that included the brushes, cleanser, powder, etc. I can't remember now what all of the products were. I elected to pay with my bank debit card and the total to be paid was near $100. I got the initial package quickly, then got 4 more of the same thing within days. Only the intitial package included the brushes. All five sets (hundreds of dollars) were charged to my bank checking account!!! I called CS and they told me to package them all up and send them back which I did immediately. At that time I told them about the 4 extra packages not containing the brush sets. However, it took several weeks of quarreling with them to get my money back. When they did credit my account, they deducted the amount for shipping and the money for the 4 sets of brushes that I did not receive! It took a few more weeks to get the shipping charges back and the money for the brushes. In the meantime I was fed up with them so even though I liked the product, I returned the one face disc special that I actually wanted to keep. I still ended up paying the shipping for ALL the returns.

I really loved the ease of the face disc and how I looked when I had the products on. The lip balm was terrible and they really need to work on it, but I liked everything else in the disc. The brushes were great too. Each brush has a color band around the handle that matched a color ring around each pot in the disc, so you'd know which brush to use with each step. The gel cleanser took off all my makeup but was simply too drying for my skin. The powder was just "ok".

Maybe I should try the face disc again through another vendor. I did really like it, since I don't like to wear foundation and don't have alot of time in the mornings. I agree the video tape taught me alot of tricks.

Darn you Winnie! You have me wanting to buy it again! Smile

I purchased the Face Disc from the Home Shopping Network. Got it for 34.00. I found a code on line for $15.00 off your first purchase from HSN!!!!! I did really great.

I don't intend to buy face powder. Out of Africa looks really nice.

You seem to be the expert on this line, so give a girl some advice. I have been browsing Lauren Hutton site and I don't know whether to go for the disc or the out of africa. What do you think. Also do I need the aqua stuff ? Helllpppp. Thanks in advance.

Hi Lori,

Of course I have both the Disc and Out of Africa (I have a serious problem Laughing). Out of Africa is beautiful but you don't get the video with it. You do get awesome cards that explain everything. The pans in Out of Africa are larger but not refillable. Therefore I would suggest the Disc with vedio.

For the AquaPress Idea I have soooo much product. The two products you get in the system personally I don't think you need. I would just get the two sponges. Getting the whole system you get instructions. The instructions are so simple. I would be happy to PM them to you or explain what I do as a Forum topic.

Check out Home Shopping Network and compare prices. If you have never bought from them before use: Coupon Code : 171520 to get $15.00 off your order. EXP: 10/31.
Hope this helps.

I hope Trish reads this as she is the one who recommended this line to me. She also has Out of Africa, Disc and AP. I think she feels the Disc is the better of two as it is refillable. There are somethings in the disc you will love and a few you might not use often. I could live without the lip balm and shadow as I have my favorites. I LOVE THE LIGHT CONCEALER, contour power, pooh (something like that), blush (so natural). There covering concealer would cover anything and so natural. I don't really need them as I have a clear complextion. I just like contouring my face.

Winnie, Do you think the concealers on the disc would be effective on dark circles? The way you describe it, it sounds w-u-n-derful. Very Happy Very Happy Did you really use most everything on the disc? So often I've bought something with a few different products on one pallette and then I totally use one up and the other two are practically untouched. And would you use it all for everyday makeup? I particularly like that you said its not a made-up look. That's always my goal, for daytime especially. This is really tempting! Rolling Eyes

Nanapost,

I think the disc (light concealer would do wonders on undereye shadows!!!) Would you use everything???? Don't think so. I use about 4 - 5 everyday. It is a everyday makeup as you don't look madeup. I believe you can also get the "TRY ME TRIO."

I would not recommend it to anyone who has no experience in putting makeup on unless they wanted to take the time to learn and watch video. I watched video, played around and still try different things. I have lovely results.

Thanks Winnie, now I'm crying I was prepared to buy.
Picture the scene me sat at Pc bar of chocolate, cup of coffee and most important fantastic plastic at ready. logged on to HSN and guess what they don't have the colour I need. Now should I practice patience and hope they get it in stock soon, or should I order direct from Lauren H site but then Phredds experience put me off of that. Sooo does anyone else know a reputable site to buy from. I hate it when I convince myself I need something, talk myself into buying it [ a long hard argument with myself, which I always win]
and then I find that I cannot actually buy the product. Brick wall

What color do you need???? HSN sells several different disc combos. Check it out! Sometimes the ones with the brushes included are a better buy.

Sorry Lori!

Hi Winnie I need the yellow {medium] and it is the set with brushes that I was after because it works out better value. I might go and have another browse. Do you know how often they restock. Sorry to be a pain.

Winnie it's me again sorted myself out, placed order then read small print they only ship to USA so I politely said ' Oh goodness'. Looked at LH site and they want a fortune to ship abroad so now I am unsure what to do. But I appreciate all your help and advice. Will let you know how I get on.

Amazon.com carries Good Stuff and they do ship to UK. You would have to check it out for rates.

Winnie. Awww shucks I can't thank you enough for going to all that effort on my behalf. I did a search and did not come up with the site you just gave me. I am going to check it out now. But I must confess itchy fingers got the better of me and I ordered from the LH site. I just think they are way over the top on postage. But then if it does for me what you say its done for you, it will be well worth it. Thank you so much. Everyone on here is so great and helpful.

Hi tried out face disc last night. Felt a bit overdone but daughter paid me a compliment 'It looks quite nice'. Which if you knew my daughter is high praise indeed. Put some on this morning happier that I think I was a bit more careful and I did like the look not too overdone. I think I need lots of practice but basically I know I am going to really like this. They also sent me a foundation (freebie I think).

Yikes this is an old thread. But, after searching and reading Winnie's post, I ordered the LH face disc from the LH website. There was a holiday special: I paid $90 and got the disc, the DVD, a set of brushes, tinted moisturizer, mascara, matte moisturizer, lipliner, and pot of lip balm. I ordered the pink disc. I later discovered the only difference in the pink and yellow discs are the concealers. I did end up ordering the yellow light concealer for $4. It's wonderful the way all of the items are replaceable in the disc.

The DVD is a must. Such a big help. What I LOVE about this kit: Lauren uses a different approach to makeup. She isn't so much into "coverage," as using the principles of shadows and light. Highlighting and contouring. She thinks face makeup makes us look older, so there is no foundation as part of the disc. I have SO MUCH high end makeup, it's not funny. Lots and lots. Well, this LH disc is all I've been using. I love it for a fresh, natural, awake look. And to have everything in the disc is just fabulous. Talk about convenient! I have lots of brushes, but have just been using the LH brushes. They are fine and get the job done. The sable brush for eyeliner is very very nice. There is nothing in the disc that I don't like, except I do prefer CareKate's Lush Lips or Prada lip balm.

I wish I had known about this disc before I started buying my tons of makeup pieces a few years ago. I highly recommend this product. It is very slick and sleek. I give it 5 stars, if 5 is highest.

Yay for you, Cedar! Lauren Huttons philosophy is great - using shadows and light to play up our features makes total sense. She really is a package-and-ahalf - a really neat woman! Winnie will be pleased to see this thread again!

Agree! Fantastic face disk. I've only been using my medium for about 6 months and must admit at first it took me forever to learn what to do and thought THIS IS ridiculous. I had to watch the video a few times. NOW...fast forward several months later I don't use the contouring at the jawline or the pooch contour and I use the eyeliner as my brow powder. The taupe is too light, so I use that shade as eye shadow. Many possibilities here! I agree, the look is so natural. Oh yes, and I use no foundation. Best purchase I ever made! This disk would be good for any age who wants to look totally neutral and natural.

I have various stuff from her line, and its all great. I tried her mineral makeup and it was awful, just way too much orange in most of it. I had the medium, and the blush was horrible, I had to send it back. So I'd let her perfect that a bit before trying it.

This summer hubby and I stayed at the Mirage in Vegas and in walks Lauren Hutton, there for the Beatles & Cirque de Soliel Love premiere. We stood next to her at the VIP elevators, and I was trying not to stare, although hubby had no idea who she was at the time, he thought her front teeth looked familiar. She was so gorgeous and natural for her age, lots of laughing and smiling. She had on very little makeup and yet she just had that glow of someone who is alive and outdoorsy. I came back and was telling my son's friends (college age) who all we saw and they were like, Who is that, never heard of her? We also saw Leonardo di Caprio, Michael Jordan, Paul McCartney, several assorted rappers and Robin Williams throughout that weekend, but I was tickled to see her up close and personal.

I love her makeup. She knows a lot she is a top model for 40 yrs so she has a lot of tips.I bought 2 of her discs with brushes, the first I ordered off TV and the second I bought off ebay With everything, the pencil, brushes etc for only 50....you just have to make sure you pick the right color cuz u cant return it but I already knew my color having ordered 1 before.I dont use the concealers though they seem to settle in lines under my eye but her pencil is great and I love her brushes what a really good deal for 50 bucks.

You can return items to Lauren Hutton website within 30 days if you get the wrong shade, or if something doesn't work for you. Just FYI.

c4ward-I could only see him at a distance as the crowd and security around was overwhelming at best, but his skin looked pretty good too. Maybe he and Lauren share beauty tips!
