About a year ago i got a mole on my cheek removed by a plastic surgeon. The mole was not large at all but i wanted it removed anyway because it bothered me.The plastic surgeon said id probably be left with a very minor scar and so he recommended scarguard and scar guard lightener. I've been using the products since i got the stiches removed over a year ago, gradually the scar flattend out and is very smooth to the touch but it is still very red in color witch bothers me the most. Over the summer it got even more red even though i used sun screen to protect it. What can i do to get the redness away. Please give me some good advice. I feel like its a never ending battle |

Hmm, Have you tried a vitamin E capsule. You can open it with a pin and put some on with your finger. I know that sometimes scars from surgery seem to take forever. I had my thyroid removed and was paranoid everyone thought I tried to off myself. Then one day the redness was just gone. There is always the old standby of concealer too. It definately will go away eventually. I'm sure some other more "knowledgeable" members will be able to help too. Just hang in there. |

I would also try vitamin E capsules. I have also heard that Rosehip Oil is good for fading scars and healing skin in general. I have used it before but I don't have any scars so I couldn't say how effective it would be.
My surgeon recommended using pure vit E on my surgery scar though and it has healed very nicely. I don't think there has been any conclusive studies that show that Vit E on scars actually helps but I am happy with my results. |
