Hello! I am a beginning aesthetician student and I was wondering if I might get some advice to enhance my career. What things I could be doing while I am a student to help me with my career? If you have any advice at all, please respond!! Thank you!! |

Great name - that's my name too!!!(so the tune of johnjacobjinglehymerschmidt comes to mind as I say that lol).
Since your a student, I think it would be a great idea if you could work in a spa - even if it's not the ideal position you'd like - just having exposure to knowledgeable ppl would be helpful, or possibly an over the counter makeup line in a department store will help you learn about skincare, makeup and other philosophies. |

Yeah I think so too, working in a spa would be very good exposure. Hanging around on forums such as this one could help too plus you'd have a legitimate excuse to do that! |

Listen to the client is good. They are the real experts when it comes to their skin, so if they say their skin tends to be dry, believe them!
I would also suggest working somewhere where you are in constant contact with people. A spa would be good, but you can hone people skills working in a restaurant etc. I think a lot of the spa experience is to do with HOW you are related to as much as what is done to you! |
