I've been using CellularSkinRX Vit. C serum which I love, but after a few hours, my face gets an orange tint to it. Has anyone else had this problem? It's noticable enough that I've switched to using it at night so I can wash it off in the morning. I'd really like to be able to use it in the AM for its antioxidant properties and so I can use my copper peptide at night. Thoughts? Thanks!

I've used a sample of this but did not have the same problem you described. In fact I haven't had that problem with any of the vit C serums I have tried (and I'm very pale). How odd! Are you using any other products that might be reacting with the vit C? I'm grasping at straws here really... |

Hi,
Maybe its the use of copper peptide and vit C that is causing this
I don't use a Vit C serum so I am not expert on this topic. I can remember reading posts in regard to not using C and peptides together.
I am looking forward to hearing from others on this. I am sure there is a simple solution. |

I used to find that the cracks in the palms of my hand went orangy when I used the skinceut C... I assume it's oxidation? the cellex hasn't done it tho |

I am on my fourth bottle of the Cellular Skin C+ firming serum and have never had any effect like that one. I generally use up a bottle in 8-10 weeks or so. Have yet to see the solution turn color as well. Are you using any self-tanners or bronzing products afterwards? The solution is clear so I wonder how you are turning orange??? It is true that copper will degrade C. |

My guess is that guapagirl is right. It's not orange when I put it on, only after a couple of hours. This makes me think that it's oxidation. However, others don't seem to have as much of a problem with this brand as I'm having. As far as the copper goes, I was using it at night, then the C in the morning. Is this too close together? |

i've heard many ppl complain that copper peptides turn their skin orange.
I have not heard that about vitamin c serum - and i'm a user of vivier vitamin c serum, and another line before that - never had that problem. |

I did some reading and also found reports that copper can turn your skin orange.I would space these two out quite a bit...more than 12 hours.... |

So just to be sure I'm doing this right...alternate the C with the copper every other morning? That would be 24 hrs between as opposed to 8-12. For those of you who have used both, which have you seen better results with (in terms of clarity, hyperpigmentation, etc.)? I could drop one from my routine entirely, I suppose.
Thanks for all your good advice! |

Kara, check out Judy's post on Vitamin C and aging. Has really nice info. The thing with copper is that it doesn't have as much research to support it as C but this could be because it simply hasn't been around as long. I think I would use 1 on 1/2 of my face and the other on the other 1/2 for a couple of weeks and then see what you think. Just be careful not to mix the two. Copper totally degrades the C and makes it pro- instead of anti-oxidant. 24 hours between them seems sufficient to me....But I'm not skincare expert, I just play one on TV, I mean, this board. |
