Hello,

I am 26 and started getting lines under my eyes when I was about 23. They are obviously getting progressively worse as time goes on and I have tried several different eye creams to no avail.

Roc Retinol A cream
Delacore Lifting eye cream

The De;acore has started making the skin around my eyes dry and flakey and sore with small red bumps which have also increased the lines under my eyes. I'm feeling very low now as they look horrible. I have no crows feet or any other lines on my face but the ones under my eyes are now very noticeable.

Can anyone please recommend me something to help?

thank you!

Hi Vee26 and welcome to the forum! Smile

I`m 30 and had my under-eye lines since 20-something. All I was doing before finding this forum was basic moisturizing, but the lines were getting worse. It`s just several months since I`ve found the EDS forum and what I`m doing now has helped in minimizing them a lot:

a.m. - vit.C + sunscreen
p.m. - vit.A product (retinoid)
+ moisturize

so what I`m using for the moment:
vit.C - Skinceuticals C&E Ferulic
sunscreen - Devita Solar moisturizer SPF30
vit.A - Avene Eluage
moisture - Cellcosmet eye-contour cream

Cellcosmet eye-contour has some good reviews here, but it is exprensive. I do find it very moisturizing, and with the winter approaching, your eyes need this extra moisture. I only use it in and a.m. hovewer, as I do not need any more moisture after Avene Eluage.

vit.C + sunscreen + vit.A make the golden standard for anti-aging, plus always keep your eyes moisturized, that`s the basic formula of success. Smile

Recently I have been using hydrating masks around eyes overnight, and I found the fine lines are improved a little bit. Laughing

What hydrating masks are you using that are helping, lunathefinal?

Maybe you can try StriVectin SD Eye Cream.

It is good for wrinkle, and it is cheaper than the Cellcosmet.

No useful advice here if you use an eye cream. Theres no eye cream that will take away lines. Only know that cosmetic companies use their face moisturizer at half the strength and charge you twice as much and call it an eye cream.

Save your money and use your face moisturizer at the eye area. You'll be better off.

I agree with SusieQ. I don't use eye creams. Whatever I use on my face goes under my eyes. I feel eye creams area a rip off. Retin-A has helped the most with my under eye lines and crepiness. It takes time but it works. Other than that, find a great moisturizer to use on your face and around your eyes and of course a good sunscreen.

As I read some posts saying many early fine lines are caused by lack of moisture, I put hydrating masks that I currently have and that can stay overnight. Now I am using Laniege water sleeping pack. I feel the brand doesn't matter much if the fine lines can be reduced just by adding more moisture. Rolling Eyes

Here's my pet peeve for the day--I agree that whatever moisturizer you use for your face ought to work as an eyecream, too. (And don't get me started about neck cream...) I do try to simplify my routine to the extent I can.

So why are so many face creams loaded with fragrances or essential oils? Get a little of that in your eye and you'll know all about it! If I had my way, every maker of facial moisturizer would be required to stick a glob of it in their eyes as a test. If it burned or caused tearing, it would be back to the drawing board to develop a product that didn't do it!
