I ordered Georgyanna Nail Ink a few weeks ago when I saw tessera's post. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. It's like a "paint" in a little jar with a tiny brush. It's a bit awkward to paint underneath your nails with the brush, but the result looks good. However, the paint wears off very quickly. I think you are better off using a white nail pencil. It's much cheaper and more convenient. |
Well phooey, it sounded so good! I keep my nails fairly short and I wondered how difficult it would be to paint the underside of the nail. I thought the liquid might cover the nail more readily and quickly than the pencils do. When you say it wears off quickly, do you mean the same day? Is it something I could do every morning that would at least last until bedtime? I love the look of regular polish, but I hate the drying time, so I was hoping this would give a groomed, clean look without a huge time investment. |
Hi, tessera.
It's difficult to say, but I don't think it looks good more than one day. It's absolutely a possibility to paint underneath your nails every morning, but I think I would prefer the pencil since it's less time consuming and gives similar results.
I am on a never-ending hunt for white nail tips. I keep my nails pretty short and shiny (by buffing), and they do look good except from the transparent/grey nail tip.
I guess the hunt continues..

Thanks for roadtesting it Septembergirl! You may not have white nail tips . . . but you get good karma points for saving me money! |

OK, this is a bit off-the-wall and not perfect, but I occasionally use Wet 'n Wild Kohl eye pencil, in white, under my nails.
It's messy since the pencil is softer than a regular nail pencil. I have to sharpen the tip 2 or three times in order to do all ten nails.
After you first apply it you will not like it - a white creamy/waxy mess all over your finger tips. But after you wash your hands it looks nice. I found that for me it sticks for at least a full day of regular activities and hand washing. YMMV.
But, again, not perfect. Some spots are whiter than others. However for the very low price of Wet 'n Wild products you might want to experiment.
I'm still looking for the HG of white nail tips. |
