I got this on the recommendations of MUAers. I was a little tired of using MMU - I had used a full jar and a half of Laura Mercier's MMU and found I wanted a better finish. There were gripes I've had with it such as fading throughout the day (or you can say melding with your skin). This causes any additional dabs that I made on imperfections for concealing purposes would be very obvious on my skin and would not look natural at all. The rest of my face of course was wonderful. Although the surface of my face could get oily by mid-day, my skin was in fact quite dry and after I blot my face would feel quite tight with MMU (as it is a powder and thus has no moisturizing properties).
So I turned to this - this is wonderful! It's super lightweight, coverage is better than you average tinted moisturizer, as an SPF of 20, color match was good (I use #2) but they have no.8 (white) and no.9 (apricot) which serves for your to mix and blend to get a right color match or increase the luminosity or for highlight/contouring purposes. The finish is completely natural, can't tell you have anything on, blurs imperfections, is buildable but this IS supposed to be sheer so if you need medium to full coverage this will not be for you. I just dab this a little more on imperfections and voila - I don't even need concealer! The staying power of this is also wonderful, 30 degrees this will look the same after an 8 or 10 hr day. I don't see the need to set this with a loose powder but if you want to look more "matte" you could. I was also told by the sales that if you mix in no.8 in a 3:1 ratio (3 parts normal color, 1 part no. you will get more coverage. I don't exactly know how it works but she did do it in front of me and yes you do get more coverage that way.
I would recommend using this with a foundation brush - something fuller, not your average flimsy ones like MAC 190 and the like. I think the best brush would be Armani's own blender brush or Shu no. 18 (NOT 18R), 18 is their regular foundation brush, or the like. I did try it with my MAC 189 and that worked much better than my Trish McEvoy foundation brush. A brush gives a better finish than just fingers.
However this product is made ONLY of silicones and is no different from say Smashbox's primer so if silicones break you out, STAY AWAY! But this texture feels more whipped and moussey than other products with the same ingredients thus it does not feel heavy on the skin at all. The texture on your skin feels "slippery" I don't find it greasy just slippery but not everyone will enjoy this texture so try at your own risk.
All in all I like this way better than other TMs which I've tried because this STAYS on my skin. I was using LM's tinted moisturizer before and within 5 minutes of being outside in 40 degrees it literally melted off and I looked SOOO bad. This will NOT do that and I've been using it for almost 2 weeks to be confident about this point.
This is definitely another wonderful product that I will repurchase.
PS: You can find a swatch of all the colors from Karlasugar's blog and the comparison of colors with other foundations to help you find your match. |

Thank you for the great review! You've sold me on this I love my MMU but every so often I have nights when I go out and want to use something different. For those times, currently I am using Pout foundation. It's nice but not fantastic - I have a problem lately with blending it in so it doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup.
The Armani will be the next purchase ONCE the Pout runs out (soon). Yes, this may come as a surprise to some of you, but I am practicing finishing off my products before I buy new stuff |

Absolutely agree! I never ever thought of using Armani's make-up range before as it's a fashion/fragrance brand. Until I tried the Face Fabric Second Skin Nude Makeup (of all places, at the Hong Kong Airport during my pre-boarding-flight last minute shopping dash )
The texture is just liquid to powder almost instantly on application and though it's light, it covers and lasts well-no oily sheen later on in the day at all
Forgot to say the liquid foundation comes with SPF as well (without any of the SPF smell or stickiness ) |

I really love this TM. I think it's the first one I ever finished up. I'm about to reorder it. I have oily/combo skin and the silicones didn't bother me. The finish is matte/natural and it looks like my skin but better. Love it |

I got a sample from GA counter. I love its texture too and it's so thin and natural but yet, it has coverage. One amazing product. |

Thanks for the reviews!
I'm hesitant to get it though, because it is so silicone based.
I have large pores that can become clogged easily. |

Lovely finish, perfect looking skin.
Unfortunately, my skin reacted to it. Small cyst-like break outs and I rarely react to products. But when I do, I really do. The skin reaction I had to this is similar to the one I had with LM tinted moisturizer. If that one gives you problems, be careful with GA Face Fabric.
Oh how I wish I could use it though. Beautiful finish! |

I've been using this for awhile on weekends when I don't want too much coverage and a natural look. I use the shaping foundation the rest of the week. When I first tried a sample I was amazed by the texture and feel on my skin. It felt so smoooooooooth. There's not a great range of colours but as sormuimui said you can mix and blend. The staying power is outstanding. Even at the end of the day I can still feel it there. I think it's actually a primer and tinted moisturiser rolled into one. A friend swears by its use as a primer beneath her foundation. I have both # 2 and #3 for winter and summer respectively. I always wear SS so there's not a great deal of change in my skin colour, but there is some.
Love it!! |

I love this product as well. I am so fair I can use shade #8 as a foundation. (it is supposed to be a highlighter). |

I tried this in 4, which is my usual GA foundation shade. It applies very nicely, I use the MAC 187 foundation brush, it really feels like nothing goes on and you have to do a half face test to even notice what the difference is, it is subtle but smoothing. Apart from the immediate pleasant effects, other than that it failed for me...
The colour darkens on me, so if you have oily skin, go half a shade lighter. Although GA cosmetics are known to have better warm or yellow shades, they are still too beige for true yellow skin tones.
The lasting ability is mediocre, however I've never found a non powder, or silicone based product to last well on my skin. It simply does not help to absorb oil, even if you dust powder on top, any oil would make the product slide off faster.
There is another product that has been getting good reviewson MUA, it is the Estee Lauder Double Wear light, and it seems even more sebum/water resistant. |

I tried it and i don't know what to think. It cover well and look natural but it's the texture. I have the impression to put thin plastic over my face...maybe it's the silicone..
i'm not sure if i will continue to use it. |

I'm still using this but I've found that I use the #2 even in summer under makeup. The #3 was okay but a bit dark. With the #2 it just sinks into the skin (which is the idea) and you can't see it, but the makeup definitely goes on much easier and lasts longer with the face fabric. Still love it! |

After I tried out the sample. I bought one in 2.
I've been using it for a year now. I still love it very much. It gives me the natural look.
It doesn't break me out either which is fantastic! |
