My Dr. just gave me anti-inflammatory medication for pain in my knees.
I was wondering - does anyone know if that would be an issue using the 2.0 dermaroller?
THANKS!!! |

Unfortunately (in this case) the 'medicine' doesn't discriminate and will reduce inflammation everywhere..
Why not ask this in the Dermaroller thread, where chances are someone has already been in that boat...
From a quick google I was able to find the following 'medical' contraindications only;
Contraindications for Skin Needling
Anyone that is under medical care that may be on a high blood pressure medication, heart medication, is diabetic, not in general good health, is a poor healer, has an active herpetic breakout, or has just had an invasive laser treatment. |

How long do you have to take the meds? If you only have to take them for a while, I would skip rolling while you are on them. If you have to take them forever, you can certainly try rolling, though your results might not be as good.
Alternatively, you could take a day or 2 off, then roll, and then start your pills up again. If you only rolled every 6 weeks, you wouldn't off the pills that much. Just make sure it is a very intense roll, and you might actually come out ahead! |

I take anti-inflammetory medication off and on for back pain. I also take blood pressure meds daily. I continue to use a Dermaroller and have not experienced any side effects. HTH. |

I haven't started rolling yet, but hadn't even thought of this. I need to take anti-inflammatories every day. Hope it doesn't make too much of a difference.
When I finally get round to rolling, I'll try to remember to mention this when I report back on any results. |

Thanks so much!!
I believe the pill popping will only be temporary for me. But at least I know I can use the dermaroller around the medication or at least just deal with getting less results.
I just didnt want to go thru that pain w/ ZERO results. |
