I am on Accutane because I have very hyper-oily skin. The drug has dried out my skin to normal type now and it is rough in areas where the blackheads are starting to come out. I have had congested skin since 12 years old and now I am 39. The really deep, old ones are stubborn so I washed my face with the nano-cyclic silver soap to remove all make-up then I put a coat of my home-made cleansing oil all over my face. I steamed my face in my facial sauna for 15 minutes then wiped the remaining oil off. I then scrubbed my face with Suki's lemongrass cleanser to get at those loosened blackheads and after applied Dermalogica's peeling mask. Finally I moisturized with Kate Somerivilles Goat Milk moisturizer. My face was glowing, super soft and had many less blackheads. I am going to do this weekly until they are all gone.

Hi Bugaboo - that sounds like a nice at-home facial, and congratulations on a good result for your skin.

Which Dermalogica mask is it that you use? (I didn't know they do a peel.)

Wow, bugaboo, that sounds excellent! I too have persistent old blackheads. Is your home-made cleansing oil in the DIY section? Thanks,

No, but I did get some info from there. I use 50% castor oil, 20% olive oil, 10% jojoba oil, 10% sweet almond oil and the rest is ylang ylang, clary sage and some tea tree oil.

I onced tried massaging with Johnson baby oil but that didn't help remove blackheads. I will definitely try steaming with scrubbing this time. Thanks. Very Happy

The nano soap does remove makeup! I found out about it on these forums, just do a search for it. Its not cheap though. I used Decleor Source D Eclat Radiance peeling mask.

You should not use baby oil on your face, it is different oil that jojoba and other types that are really good for you. I use castor oil to clean out blackheads.

I've just made a purchase of DHC Cleansing Oil and was wondering if that will also help with blackheads removal? I think its made from olive oil.

Haven't tried it but I'm hoping using this with my Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream will help a bit.
