After last years scare about dmae killing off skin cells I stopped using it as an active. I had good experiences with it and am seriously thinking of going back to it. Dr Pickhart (skinbiology) says it's fine so I'd like to know:
Is anyone here still using any products containing dmae and if so how are you going with them. |

Yup, I've been courageously risking skin cell death in the name of firmness.
Still using DMAE so far with no problems (fingers crossed). |

I am using it, anything that gives those kind of results is worth the risk and I am not sure that the study was that accurate that created the scare. |

Guess ignorance is bliss - I'd missed the news about the experiment in which cell death was noted.
I started using a serum with DMAE about a year ago, and liked it. Since then, I read about the controlled trial of 3% topical gel with positive results, and suspected the product I was using had a lower concentration. So I made my own serum at 3% (aloe vera base), and so far, I'm liking the results even better.
I’ve now read up on the Morrissette study. If I’d seen that first, more cells dying, even in a petri dish, would have sounded scary. But compared to a clinical trial in which hundreds of people used the 3% gel on their actual faces for a year with no ill effects, not so much. So long as my neck continues to look better, I’ll take my chances.
By the way, I’m now using the DMAE serum on top of copper peptide lotion, so hopefully I’m generating more new cells. In which case, more old, ugly ones dying and sloughing off would be good, not bad. |

I're read that Skinactives has an awesome DMAE solution. Anyone here tried that one? |

EDS has a 3% DMAE Gel by PSF, 36g, 28CAD. But I am kind of persuaded by the description of "This product has a mild "ammonia-like" or "fish-like" smell that cannot be masked" |
I'm using that one at the moment, but the smell is just on an initial basis. It does quickly fade away to nothing.
My cats sniff like crazy when I first put it on before it has a chance to fade, though! |

The first DMAE I used was PSF, but I couldn't take that smell. I used it up, but didn't repurchase. I am using Skin Actives and like it, but I think I got better results with Reviva Labs DMAE from Vitacost.com, so not sure what I will order next time. Skin Actives product has so many other nice additives. |

I also used to use Reviva DMAE a lot and still use it periodically http://www.vitacost.com/Reviva-Labs-DMAE-Firming-Fluid-301
Reviva DMAE has really good reviews.
DMAE powder is cheap it is possible to make DIY DMAE serum for a fraction of a cost of off the shelf product. |

I use a moisturizer with DMAE once a day that gives me a wonderful rosy glow. I don’t think it has a high concentrate, but I love it either way! |

Wow as I was applying my nightly serum I realized that has DMAE to. It's funny how when you use so many products you begin to forget what is in what. Anyway, as you can see I use DMAE twice a day (morning and night) and so far no issues. |
