Hello all,
I just bought a new dry brush, and it is SO stiff, it makes little scratchy marks all over my skin. It also kind of hurts, so I am currently brushing much more lightly than I usually do with my other brush.
Any ideas about softening the bristles up? Or should I ditch it for a different one that isn't so intense?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi avalange
Umm it does sound a bit stiff!
You could try soaking it in hot water in case the bristles have been stiffened by something they've used in the manufacture, detergent?
Otherwise I'd just wear the ends of the bristles a bit by scrubbing at a hard surface with it. Sorry you've had this happen, hope it resolves itself |

I wouldn't be using anything that is actually scratching the skin and leaving marks. Loulou's advice sounds good but if you can't soften the brush, I would just chuck it and buy a different brand. Make sure it has natural bristles.
Also, can anyone tell me why dry brushing is better than wet brushing? |

What is it made of? Synthetic or natural hair?
If it is synthetic I don't think you could do something about harshness of the brush. What brand did you buy? |

I think you should save this brush to use on your feet since the skin there is thicker, and get a new brush for your body, and an even softer one for your face. |
