I like Angel but SO many people around here wear it and I don't want to smell like anyone else, Angel is a gourmand fragrance so I'd like suggestions for other wonderful gourmand perfumes!! What are your favorites?

I had to Google gourmand fragrances, and it seems they're created to smell like our favorite foods.
http://perfumemaking.blogspot.com/2006/07/gourmand-fragrances.html

Maybe I just don't grasp the concept, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't I want to smell like food. I'd probably stay hungry all the time. Rolling Eyes Though I've read that in pioneer days ladies would dab vanilla extract behind their ears as a perfume.

AMinthemorning, I would recommend you try "Serendipitous" by Serendipity 3. It is my favorite perfume ever!! It's chocolate-based and very sensual.

Gourmand doesn't ALWAYS have to smell exactly like food...hence Angel, I wouldn't consider it to smell like food but it has that hint of sweetness that is food like...

mans: Where can I find this? Smile

Keep the suggestions coming!!

The Exact Friction of the Stars, by Pillar & Lucy. I also like their other one (To Twirl All Girly) but, alas, just like Angel, TTAG gives me massive migraines! Sad Sad

AM-- here is a link to Serendipitous:
http://www.chocolatelotus.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TCL&Product_Code=SerePerfume&Category_Code=serendipity3

I think you will really like it--- I'm very sensitive to scents, and this is one of the only ones that doesn't give me a headache. It's very warm and sensual without being toothache sweet. The price is nice too!^-^

mmmmmmm chocolat!!!
Another one I like is Vanille Abricot by Comptor de Sud. I believe Sephora still sells it. Sometimes TJMaxx has the body butter. Apricot delight!!!

My absolute favourite is Poivre by Caron, but I also love Vanille Abricot by Comptoir Sud Pacifique and Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens.

Thanks majorb.....I meant to say Comptoir Sud Pacifique re: Vanille Abricot. I had Comme des Garconnes on my mind, I guess, who also makes many foodie frags....Cinnamon, Lemon, Lime, Peppermint.

After reading this thread on gourmand scents, I tried a spray of 'Angel' in a shop yesterday.
Blimey - it has a definite whiff of Christmas mince pies!
Perhaps it should be called 'Christmas Angel'. Laughing

majorb, Oh yes, I love Comme des Garconnes frags! I'm not a big "perfume & high heels" girliegirl, so I like more "pure" scents, if you can call it that. Theirs are more androgynous.

"Peppermint" is wonderful during the summer, or anytime I just want a refresher. It isn't candycane peppermint - it's more herbal garden with a hint of grass. It will definitely cool you off!

"Cinnamon" is the opposite - very warming and delish, but not sugarycinnamon.

"Lemon", "Lime" and "Grapefruit" are yummy and not sickeningly sweet. One could add vanilla for a more rounded feminine frag.

Not gourmand, but "Avignon" is straight out of Holy Mass: authentic pontifical incense plus a cold stone element that is difficult to explain. It has to be experienced - some hate it, some are addicted.

Luckyscent.com will let you sample to your heart's content for around $3.00USD for each 1-2ml vial. It's fun to browse their awesome stash of frags!

Come to think of it, the best gourmand I've tried so far is Dulcis in Fundo by profumum. It is a sweet orange/bourbon vanilla scent but it's nothing like CSP Vanilla Citrus or any of those "creamsicle" foodie frags. It's much fuller and deeper....and mouthwatering. And expensive....$250USD for 100ml....but so worth it! Available at luckyscent.com.

I bought Neroli perfume from L'occitane in notre flore natural mediterranian treasures. I think this is fairly new. They also have Myrtle and Cedar in that collection. it is a bit pricey: 95 CAD $ but sure is different.

Chocolovers, Ralph HOT, and L'Occitane Honey & Lemon (although I've only tried this at the store).
