I get dry flaky scalp in the wintertime. Is there any product that I can use as a scalp exfoliator or treatment mask to reduce the flakes? |

I did not know that these types of products existed until I read about Davines Awakening Oxygenating scrub shampoo in a magazine recently. It contains micro capsules of jojoba, silica particles and peppermint oil and is supposed to provide deep cleansing of the scalp. I think it sounds interesting. Many of us exfoliate our face and body, so why not the scalp?

Vinegar also helps to loosen up flakes so that you can wash them away. |

I agree, vinegar is helpful. You can also massage a table salt to your scalp for 1 or 2 minutes and then follow with shampoo. Castor oil helps to clean the skin, but it is hard to wash it away.
All these treatments must not be used frequently, for it will strip oil from your scalp and your skin may overcompensate with producing more oil.

I'm sure I read somewhere here about aspirin mask for the scalp being helpful for flakies. Just add aspirin to an oil/aloe gel/ water and massage in! |
