I caught an episode last week on the Oprah Show discussing skincare. Dr. Oz and a Dermatologist spoke during the show about the regular use of Vit. A (in the forms of Retinyl, Retinol, etc.), Vit. E (Tocopheral) and Vit. C (L-Asorbic Acid) in a skincare routine. And of course, he spoke about the daily use of Sunscreen. Just thought it was interesting.

He also listed niacin so, since watching the show, I've been searching for a serum/complex with it. Any good suggestions? I have looked at the Orlane B21 & Nia 24 lines so far. My Stem Organics Exquisite Face Fluid has b3. Isn't niacin B3? |

I make my own serum with ingredients from Bulkactives:
Glucosamine & Niacinamide Serum 1oz:
1/2 tsp. Glucosamine (5%)
1/4 tsp. Niacinamide (2.5%)
5 tsp. Distilled water
1 tsp. Glycerin |

Good suggestion, Keliu, but I have never had much success with the DIY route. Still, I may look into the cost of the ingredients & give it a try. I wonder if Bulkactives delivers to Canada... |

I just made my own serum too. It's 5% niacinamide and 5% green tea exctract, and 25% moisturizer. The rest is manuka honey and water (PSF R&R toner for the water part).

MP, thanks so much for posting this link! I missed the show and my Mom had mentioned it to me. I went to the Oprah site that evening but couldn't find anything on the actual episode so I just forgot about it.
I clicked the link you gave and I got to the part about the sun protection. I haven't gotten to the part about how to correct anything yet though. I'm very interested to see about the brown spots. I've got several creeping up on me and I'm not to thrilled about it. I do use a daily SPF now but when younger I didn't. The damage is already done, I'm afraid. |
