I just finished my Jan Marini C-Esta and decided to try the IS Clinical C-15 Serum. It has not arrived yet so I am hoping there's plenty of instructions on how to use. For those of you who have used this product before, can you please share your routine?
I am in my late forties, have normal and fair skin with some hyperpigmentation. My skin is not sensitive. I don't really have any major problems although would like to get some firming as my face continues to go towards my mouth . I would like to use this on every other morning on cleansed face, followed by sunscreen. At night, I will use my SuperCop. On alternate days, I would like to use the Obagi Nuderm for normal/oily skin for day and night. |

I have never used this product, but for any C serum, generally it is best to apply to dry skin, and then let absorb ideally for at least 20 min, then apply your sunscreen. This is to maintain the stability of the L-Ascorbic Acid, and to allow it to sink in fully as well. Vitamin C can be made less effective if it is applied to wet skin. By the way, once the vitamin C is fully absorbed it can't be washed off, and remains active for up to 72 hours. |

Thank you so much for your response. If the Vit C remains active for 72 hours, is there another product I should not apply within 72 hours that will counteract the Vit C? Or are you saying I should not apply anything else (aside from sunscreen) within the 72 hours? |

You can still apply other proucts during the 72h. I would not add another product over the C serum, except sunscreen. Lot's of people use retin A and night and C in the morning, for example, so its fine to use other products. 72 hours is the max that the C can last, so you might consider applying it daily, or every 2 days, just to be sure you are getting enough supply of Vit C in your skin. |
