Is it OK to apply Obagi products if my skin is fragile, raw in some areas? Sometimes I get little areas where there has been a lot of peeling, where it is a bit raw. Nothing terrible but definately more sensitive there. Should I let it heal over or still apply? Thanks |

amonavis, don't apply the products to any raw areas. You need to let them heal first. |

Will do! I was going to apply Action, but I really find it irritating for some reason! I dont really get why it would be, the ingredients seem harmless. Oh well... thanks |

No problem. You can use a zinc diaper rash cream on the raw areas (I know it sounds silly, but it will work!). |

Im so tempted to throw Action in the trash! lol... Fortunately my face has calmed down from the initial redness after applying it!
I think now what irritates me the most is the toner! I wonder if I can get away with using it only at night? Or am i pushing it? |

I think you could try using it only once a day. I know the purpose of it is to bring the skin back to the correct pH for the products to do their job better, but to be honest with you, when I ran out of the toner last year when I used Nu Derm, I just replaced it with witch hazel and I had great results. That is just me, and obviously not recommended by Nu Derm! |

Good to know! You know what though, I do find my skin starting to tolerate more and more... The difference between the first 5 days and now (15 days after starting) is huge. Before my face was red, wrinkly looking because it was so painfully dry. Now its getting used to the products. My biggest issue is my neck area, which is more sensitive. I also kind of rub the products in past the jaw line so it blends properly. But this makes my neck area red. |

That's great news, amonavis. You will find the longer you are on Nu Derm, you will become less and less sensitive to the products. You are definitely doing the right thing by extending the products past the jawline. Also, make sure you are extending them into the hair line, ears, etc.
Are you using the products on your neck? If you are, make sure no exfoderm on the neck, and only apply the products to your neck 2 days a week.
Sounds like you are doing great and will have wonderful results after the 18 weeks! |

Im not really using the products on my neck. I am generally very happy with my neck skin. When I compare the skin on my neck, poreless and no discolorations, to the skin on my face, it's really the skin on my face I want to improve I guess for some people the neck can be a problem area though. I havent been extending into my ears but I will. I tend to rub the products as close to my hairline as I can without going into the scalp Thanks for all your help. Do you think that Obagi can get rid of non-melasma discolorations? I have some redish slightly pigmented areas... not sure where it came from, might have been from over use of glycolic/lactic peels, then not letting my skin rest enough before applying other products! I guess some sort of Post Inflam. Pigmentation? My dermatologist didn't seem to think it was anything but I notice it lol. |

It may get rid o your red marks, at the very least it would probably make them a lot more faint! |

You can use it under your eyes. Just go slow. The eye area will probably look worse for a while, meaning more wrinkled, but it will improve with time. Make sure to put an eye cream on top of the Obagi products. |
