How do we clean our dry brushing brush? I bought one recently and decided to wash it first with hot water and soap before using. Boy, it stinks. There is no other word to describe it. I was literally gagging when I took a sniff at it.
How do you girls clean ur brushes? Do yours smell ok? |

I wash my dry brush occasionally with
warm water and a little baby shampoo and then let it air dry.
No smell. It smells really fresh and I've had it for 8 months now.
If yours smells that bad, I would assume it's the brush itself and get another one. You wouldn't want your body to smell after brushing! |

Soak it in weak bleach solution? Maybe cheap materials were used in your brush that have an odor. Look for one made with hinoki wood that is resistent to mold and mildew, although it might be a little more expensive. I think DHC carries one, or Aura Cacia. |

Thank you. I went to sniff at my gf's USA bought one and it has a pleasant woodsy scent to it. Hers was made entire of wood and natural bristles.
I paid about $4 usd for mine at the local pharmacy. There is a plastic layer between the natural bristles and wooden base. The bristles are also alot shorter.
Will hunt around for a better quality one! |

clean the brushes after every use, especially the lip brush and the foundation brush. As to the powder brush and the eyeshadow brush, I clean them after 2-3 times use. |

I use the brush cleanser from M.A.C and it is very effective. The bottle is about 200ml and it lasts a long time.
I clean my brushes every week by wiping the brushes against a paper towel soaked with the cleanser until they come off clean. |

Is this they type of brush you use? I want to purchase one, but would rather have one that another member has used and can vouch for. |

I clean with soap & water and then spray with listerine in a spray bottle to kill bacteria. Then let it dry and go about your business. |
