I've used Tendskin for a long time, and besides ingrown hairs it can also be used to treat zits and cold sores. Well I have this zit on my face that is on the corner of my mouth and looks like a cold sore, but it isn't. Of all the places to get a zit! Doubt Anyways, I put Tend Skin on it 2 days ago and it BURNED my skin! Now I'm left with this discoloration on the corner of my mouth that I am more concerned about than the zit Sad I feel really self-conscious about it. What's the prognosis of this going away and fading? Am I going to have this mark permanently? what would be the best thing to use for my situation? I'd appreciate any advice from all you beauty divas. Sorry, I know there's already so many posts out there on pigmentation, discoloration, and scarring... Embarassed

Having had acne and being the queen of picking I can tell you it will eventually fade. I have made some horrid messes of my face in my younger days and now my skin is all one tone.

Don't worry I am sure in time it will fade.

Sorry for your dramatic event. I don't really know what to say except for the advice of a burn...........
The best thing to put on skin which has been burned is pure Vitamin E. Get some natural source Vitamin E capsules 400 iu, break one open and apply to the area for the next few days. When the soreness has gone away, use an AHA/BHA product to help speed up skin turnover & exfoliation which should help with skin tone in the area.
And then take the rest of the Vitamin E capsules internally. This is a great antioxidant for the body and is good for the skin as well!!!!!!

Also, if you are using Tendskin, I assume you are shaving or waxing the bikini area. Shaving is a big No No for me and I only had it waxed once and will never go back again because it was the worst pain ever. I have yet to go through labor/childbirth but it must be really close to the pain of waxing the bikini line. I use Nair/Neet cream remover and this works well and I don't get ingrown hairs. The result may not last as long but it is worth it. No irratation, no red bumps from shaving. Jst exfoliate daily with a loofah, body brush or scrub.

Put down the Tendskin for good and get some Nair.

Thanks so much ladies for your advice. The reassurance really made me feel better. Miss shoes, I guess I'm a bit of a masochist as I get Brazilian bikini waxing. Bad Grin I can't shave either because I get horrible ingrown hairs. I'm not to into the idea of using Nair to do a Brazilian wax though after my Tend skin experience; I'm afraid of getting another chemical burn as the bikini area is very sensitive. But thank-you for the other suggestions. The good news is the area is looking much better, so I am feeling optimistic. Thanks again Sherri and Miss shoes!

ack sorry miss shoes!

but clinical studies proved that topical vitamin e application actually hinders wound healing..i'm not sure why

your best bet is neosporin, aloe vera, or manuka honey.

also an aminoplex spray is very good

Been meaning to share this, but my chemical burn scar at the corner of my mouth completely faded and is gone! It happened a couple of weeks ago, Date unknown. I completely forgot about it instead of focusing on it, just continued using my regular skincare routine. One day I realized it was gone! I am so happy about that. Very Happy
