ezduzit, Bethany is having great results with this product. I just purchased it and will be using it on my "maintenance" from Nu Derm. I'll keep you posted if this keeps my freckles faded or not.

There is another new line out from dermalogica. I have not heard anything about it as far as reviews. I also can't find out much information on the ingredients. Anyway, the product is called Chromawhite. From my initial look at the products, they look really good!

I am looking forward to seeing your progress pics with the Vibrance, Bethany. Have you noticed any more improvement, or is it too early to tell?

Only for you guys would I take updates pics before breakfast and my sacred Diet Coke! Very Happy

5/15/08 (ignore the zit)

Image

11/27/08 - I look pinker from using either Retin A or a retinol product every day now, but I can see that my baseline spot (right in front of the ear) has faded a bit.

Image

12/14 - I took pics in slightly different light...same room, just facing in different directions (both natural light, no flash, no makeup). It's amazing how harsh some lighting can be. But I really don't see much additional difference yet, even though I added the Obagai C-Rx to the mix.

Thanks! Yes, the Obagi C-Rx does have 4% HG in it, but you can use any Vit C.

Bethany,

Your skin looks amazing! I plan on giving Vivite a try. I was wondering what kind of Retina A are you using? Is it prescribed and if so is it a generic brand? Also, what retinol products are you using? I have not really given retinol a try yet and plan too.

Thanks!

I was using a generic Retin A from Mexico, but to be honest I am sticking with just a 1% retinol these days because it is far less irritating for me. I started off using the ZO Radical Night Repair product which I really love, but the $325 (30 mL/1.0oz) price is really FAR more than I want to pay in this economy.

After doing some research on time-released retinols (like ZO), I have narrowed my future retinols down to one of these...

These 2 are private label products and made by Young Pharmaceuticals (very reputable, especially for retinols). You can do a search for 1% Emolugel to price shop...I used this link only because it carries the serum AND the Emolugel. Lovelyskin.com carries the Emolugel, and sometimes has a 20% off sale.
- Retinol 100 Serum, 30 mL/1.0oz, $58.00
- Retinol 100 Emolugel, 30 gm/1.0oz, $58.00
http://www.dermlaserdallas.com/_wsn/page9.html

DermaDoctor.com also has a new 1% time release option which looks very good and contains lots of botanicals. This is also a private label product.
- DermaDoctor Poetry in Lotion, 1.0oz, $75
http://www.dermadoctor.com/product_DERMAdoctor-Poetry-In-Lotion-intensive-retinol-10_1013.html

As far as pigmentation is concerned, I am now testing Nia24, and alternating that with my other products (every other day). It has some firming benefits too. Here are some before and after pics:

Just wondering what is the active ingredient in vibrance? How much does a jar or tube of this cost?

Here is the ingredients list:

http://www.dermstore.com/product_Vibrance+Therapy_16222.htm

The actives should be retinol, various botanical extracts (licorice, mulberry, grape, green tea, etc) and antioxidants (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, tocopherol, superoxide dismutase.

I believe it doesn't come cheap (more than USD100 for a small bottle of 30mls).

Does this leave any sort of film on your skin after using if you follow with sunscreen?

Not that I noticed. But I have to tell you that I am no longer of a fan of HQ at all...I missed wearing sunscreen for 2 days, was only outside for 5 mins each day, and got some MAJOR rebound hyperpigmentation.

So I am now back to the Vivite Vibrance and Nia24 (which I really like).

That is good to know about the HQ and rebound hyperpigmentation. I read about other members having the same problem. I'll avoid this product for that reason.

I have been getting mine on ebay for about $70, and I only use it once a day.

The key ingredient is methyl dihydroxybenzoate which suppresses pigmentation from forming. It also has glycolic acid which helps exfolitate the spots away.

However, Nibn clued me in that Priori Even Tones, Priori Brightening Face Complex, and TRUE Anti-Aging Radiance Revealing Complex with Idebenone all have methyl dihydroxybenzoate and they all are made by Allergan just like the Vibrance. (THANKS Nibn!!)

I am going to check out those products as well when I am out of the Vibrance.

Editing to add:
They have Priori here at EDS!

However, I just noticed that it has Idebenone in it...I had a reaction to that in the past, so no go for me, darn it.

Priori Brightening Face Complex has coffee berry in it and no idebenone , I hate idebenone too , gave me serious hives, from my experience with revaleskin's night cream its a great brightener, so the combo of methyl dihydroxybenzoate and coffee berry should be nice

Nibn....I got the hives too, but from Prevage. No more idebenone for me, ever!

I'll check out the Priori Brightening Face Complex...thanks again!
