Ladies....I need your input. My boyfriend will be journeying to Ontario on business and I have checked out some of the awesome, Canadian pharmacies. ANYWAY, the seem to have the new Nivea Visage DNAge products, which we can't get in the States. Any reviews or thoughts on this product line. The price points are great!

The two main features of the DNAge products are folic acid and creatine. According to Paula Begoun's ingredient encyclopaedia, neither have been proven to be effective when used in cosmetics (take that for what it's worth of course). All the other ingredients lead me to believe it would be a decent moisturizing, but the daycream doesn't appear to have any SPF protection (according to Nivea.ca).

For the most part, we in Canada don't have too many things at our pharmacies that you can't get in the US. I read somewhere that La Roche Posay's line of sunscreens is more extensive here and use Mexoryl, but don't quote me on that.

What you should do is take advantage of the exchange rate! There are 3 pharmacies here that I frequent to compare prices - Shoppers Drugmart, Pharmasave (Rexall), and The Bay (they have a pharmacy in some of their stores). On average I find Pharmasave to be the cheapest and have the best sales, but you can check out all their flyers online.

From my research, it looks like certain Shopper's Drug Marts have beauty boutiques, which look pretty extensive. One in particular, located in Weland (sp?), looks like it has many good products. My boyfriend will be passing through, so I will have him stop in! Pharmacies in the states only have the typical drug store cosmetics.....with usally Loreal being the highest quality. Maybe I can have him pick up some La Roche Posay products, or Avene.

I was just curious about the Nivea....since the price points are considerably lower and I have read decent reviews.

I'm only familiar with the Shopper's in the city (Toronto), but almost all of them will have a full "upscale" section for cosmetics like RoC, Avene, Roche Posay, etc. etc.

I forgot to mention that RoC Canada differs from RoC in the US, so you may want to check that out too. Smile

I find that the cosmetics at Loblaws Superstores and Walmart (I'm also in Toronto) are usually cheaper than Shoppers' prices, even the latter's sale prices. Of course they have very limited selection but they do carry the common brands like Olay, L'oreal, and Nivea.
