Does anyone have any recommendations for those invisible backless, strapless silicone bras?
I have seen a few on ebay, but they vary so hugely in price, I was wondering if you indeed get what you pay for. What I wanna know is, are the £10 ones as good as the £45 ones and do they actually work in the real world.
TIA, Liz x |

I’m always fascinated by those infomercials for those “chick-fil-a” bras. My mind simply cannot grasp the concept that a little bit of silicone with stick-em could hold my double-Ds in place!
GG – I don’t know if you can order from them internationally, but the “Invention Channel” (I think their URL iswww.inventionchannel.com but you might google it to make sure) are the ones who produce those infomercials, and they sell the “real deal” (i.e.: the original $50 version) for around $19.95 and “If you call right now, we’ll include a SECOND invisi-bra in black or nude at no extra charge!”
If you take the plunge and buy one, be sure to post a product review after you’ve given it a test drive!! |

Blimey, not only are we all gorgeous here, but also well stacked! (apart from me who has shrunk from a DD to a B )
Carrie, I couldn't find it on the inventionchannel, but they don't ship outside the states anyway (pity, cause the magnetic back support looked really good!).
I can't imaginr them supporting anything really heavy, but given that my tits are like marbles in socks, I just want something to stop them hitting my knees when I wear tops that I would normally go braless in |

I bought the expensive kind and when I first tried it on it looked great, however the sticky did not hold and I was constantly having to run to the restroom and smash them back on.(for lack of better terminology)I finally just took the whole thing off. I was very disappointed because I despise wearing a bra and I thought this would be perfect. I am small busted and I cannot imagine anyone well endowed being able to wear this type of bra. |

I've never tried these silicone types, but I've had the same experience as smax with other stick-on ones I've bought. Such a bother!
I have black and nude Wacoal smooth strapless bras that plunge very low in the back and on the sides. For times when I wear a halter or other very bare top but need some support, they've been the best so far.
guapagirl, have you ever tried just strapping up those little guys with some medical tape (the kind that has a powdery/dry feel)?

Well, I'd like to go for the gorgeous bit but there is no bra in this world that would make me look anywhere close to a D cup Mind you, when I stepped on the scales yesterday the body fat came up as 11% - I wish that 11% would all just agree to meet up where it counts! |

Well I would tape them up april, but I'd need wide tape and so much of it! Try to imagine a large plasic bag with a tiny amount of water and all the air squeezed out and you'd see the problem I have
I think it's gonna be the perele cross over multiway. I just want something to wear under my new rick owens top and it is soooo thin that it is almost but not quite indecent. Maybe I should layer it |

You have such a gift for painting a vivid mental image! You know Janina-Bitch, my evil stepmother, used to fancy herself as a very fashionable and tuned-in lady (obviously she was delusional) and what she would do when she wore sheer, or nearly-sheer tops would be to put a bandaid (I think y’all call them “sticking plasters”...?) over each nipple. If memory serves, she was about a C-cup and gravity had already begun to take it’s toll....
The thought of taping up my girls doesn’t bother me much, but I can’t help but wonder about the...errr... *discomfort* of removing all that adhesive!! You know, all this talk about tits and tape reminds me of the infamous green Versace “scarf” that JLo wore to the Grammys with Puff Diddy (sic) a few years ago. Either she was very devout in her faith, or else she was using impervious double-sided sticky tape to hold everything in place!
Does anyone know who invented the brassiere in the first place? I bet it was a man, especially in regards to the underwire! Back in the 70s, a new brand of tampon went on the market called “OB.” Their marketing slogan was “Designed by a woman gynecologist to fit a woman’s unique shape...” What I want to know is, why can’t some brilliant female engineer design a support bra that is both beautiful, comfortable and functional?? Has anyone tried that new “IPEX” state-of-the-art bra from Victoria’s Secret yet? How was it? For all my bodacious friends here on EDS, what is the best bra that you’ve ever worn? (Sorry, GG, for hijacking your thread!) |

I've not tried the new bra but I do order all my bras for victorias secret, most comfy, look good the sizes are accurate, if you have bigger boobs, lets face it shoelace straps are no use if you have hold up boulders |

Carrie, I think that a bandaid just wouldn't work, cos the bits at the side of the band aid would just hang down That said, I'll give it a go!
As to female designed bras, a woman in the uk designed a bra with a kind of plastic shaped support as opposed to a wire, I think they are called ultimate? I've never tried one as I tend to go for the boudoir look a la agent provocateur, and hers are all rather sensible looking (I know, I'm a tart!)
Best bra ever? A Lejaybe (sp?) from my days of owning boulders! I guess the benefits of shrinkage is that you don't need to spend so much on support and for sure you gotta have a good bra if you are big (Eve, you ever see Trinny and Susannah with Jo Brandt!) |

I have the original expensive silicon one (Euro100): NuBra. I have been using them for a couple of years now for sexy little tops. They are great, I even wore thme to clubbing where I sweat so much. You have to clean them with soap water and air-dried them after each use. And before you put them on, it's best to wipe your breasts with alcohol to get rid of the oil therefore they stick better. They come in cup A, B and C, sorry for those any bigger. Another reason I love is they make my humble B look much fuller . They are great for backless tops or dresses, not just because there are not straps, also the fullest they make your breasts and you can create a cleavage with them too by sticking them more outward, once you snap them together, voila, a cleavage. When I got them, they were quite new to the market so only came in nude. They come in black as well now obviously.
Otherwise, the best strapless bra I have used is Lejaby (www.lejaby.com orwww.lejabyca.com), they never slip and the rubber along back strap does not irritate like the other brands. I can't even use the rubber transparent add-on strips because they irritate me, but not the Lejaby's Nuage (microfiber), the material leaves your skin to breath and absorb moisture from sweat, and the seamless material is great for tight t-shirts. I'd better stop as I sound too much like a salesperson for them. |

I've never tried them and don't intend to - my double d's need a home. However I have a couple of plunging neck evening gowns and I simply sewed bra cups into the lining. This worked a treat and I've done it a couple of times. The only problem is it will not work with clingy or stretch fabrics, only with fairly structured garments.
By the way a woman invented the bra way back in 1913 because she needed some help not jiggling in an evening dress. She got her maid to sew two hankies to a strap that could be tied at the back. |

Maidenform.com has some nice options for invisible bras. I can tell you for sure you'll find a good price and good quality! |

I'm with luckielouie, though I'm just a lowly C, and I sewed most of a strapless bra into the side seams of my evening gown.
These days, the "lowly" is lower than ever, but even as a young woman, tape didn't work for me. I think unless you're super-firm, stickum won't hold up anything above a B satisfactorily. |
