Hello,
I have discovered that if I use products containing mica I break out in painful pimples. Does this happen to anyone else or is it just me?
Thanks! |

Mica can defintely cause allergic reactions. Fortunately, there are a number of MMU companies who will leave out the mica completely. |

Mica is a well known pore-clogger.
Many people stay away from it, but I beleive it is the ingredient that gives "luminosity" to many products by adding a slight shimmer. |

Thanks for the replies! Why do so many companies use it then, I wonder?
Does the same apply for Titanium Dioxide? I tried using a sunscreen with it last year and I developed very painful, deep, pimples. |

If your skin is sensitive mica and also titanium dioxide are known to be skin aggravators. |

Some people are sensitive to mica.
Keep in mind all mica is not created equally, so you may not be able to use one brand but can use another. |

May I recommend you some mica-free mineral make up brands. Fyrinnae, Cory, Dreamworldminerals (one or more of her formulas - plese check the ingredients of each formula). These have mica-free formulas. Fyrinnae's is light coverage, Cory is very heavy coverage, Dreamworld is medium. |
