I have been browsing facial steam products such as Jurlique's Facial Steam Bath Concentrate and Dr Hauschka Facial Steam Concentrate. I suppose one could use either of these in the sink bowl or with one of those home facial steamers before masking.
Has anyone here used these or similar products and if so, are they really useful? Steaming usually comes with a professional facial and my face just glows for days. I don't know if the steam has any part in this, but I'd like to try it. They seem to be relatively inexpensive.

I just use the old method of SwissKriss (herbal mixture) in a pot of boiling water. I've always been intrigued by other steaming mixtures but have never tried them.
The SwissKriss works great. I used it in my teens through my 30's. Now in my 40's, I don't use it too much though I still like it. I think perhaps it's because my skin is starting to need alot more help. 
Anyone steaming should be careful of creating broken blood vessels if they're prone. Holding your face further away from the steam and proceding moderately & gently is a good idea. |

Re: steaming, I've actually never done it. How does it affect dry skin? And, even more importantly, is there one that would be beneficial for dry, "mature" skin?  |

this is probably not relevant here but is it possibel to buy a steamer such as the one facialists use...????
i have actually bought a small oen for use at home but it hardly created any steam at all unlike teh one the facialist uses.... |

This one looks quite different than the ones I usually see for home use and is the one I'm thinking of buying. However, says it is not suitable for essential oils or salts, so I don't know if anything other than distilled water could be used.

Now dont laugh...Get a wallpaper stripper!! 
They are brilliant....I've been stripping the paper off the hall and landing and both bedrooms. I'm using a wallpaper steamer to get the paper off and boy does it steam!
I'm havimg a serious facial every night, my skin hasnt looked so fresh in ages!! My spots are gone to  |

I haven't tried the Jurlique steam concentrate but I do have the Dr Hauschka one and I try to use it regularly. I think steaming the face really does help, especially before you apply a clay mask of some sort. I don't know if there is much of a difference between steaming with just water vs the Jurlique or Dr H formulations but I do prefer steaming my face with the Dr H.
I have read about steaming with Swiss Kriss and I have tried FOR AGES to get Swiss Kriss for that very purpose but haven't been able to. I can't find it anywhere in Australia and I haven't found a place that has reasonable shipping costs to Australia either (given the price of Swiss Kriss in the first place the shipping turns out to be heaps of times the price of the actual product!).

Nanapost, For me. steamng opens the pores for deep cleanng. ususallly wash really well after or use a mask.
(The letter "eye" s not workng on my keyboard so please bear wth me.)
Steamng ncreases crculaton to the face too.
Stll fnd t helpful n my 40's though t was an nstant cure all n the years before.
have dry skn too.

cheri.... i just had a look at the steamer... i have tried a similar one and for me the force and amount of steam was too little..
let me know of any reviews on it if u do decide to purchase. |
