A few months ago I was having a facial and my beautician has put essential oils on my skin under a mask. Well a few minutes later I felt like my skin was burning, I've never experienced such a horrible sensation in my whole life. She quickly took the mask of and I was left with a red face for the evening.
I was just wondering whether anyone else has had similar experiences. |

Hi Ceca01,
I bet you wont be going back to her. I love to use essential oils, but not so much on my face. I know peppermint is very strong. I make sure to use high quality and pure essential oils and dilute with a carrier oil.

I wouldn't suggest to use essential oils on the face either. Can you ask what types of essential oils she used on your face? It may be helpful to know what you could react to. I agree peppermint is very strong and I also can't use eucalyptus essential oil not even as additive in my massage body oil. |

I haven't asked her which oils she has used on me but she did say that it was a mixture of oils. My skin is a bit funny though and she says that she did the treatment on quite a few ladies.
I still go to her, it's not her fault she didn't know. She is a great beautician but sometimes it's a game of trial and error I guess. She did give me a very good discount on her services for the next few months though. |

for the past 8 months..i always use diy carrier oil plus essential oil serums for skin regeneration...
first i use a rosehip seed oil carrier serum with essential oils for various kind of skin regeneration..massage in well..then add a second layer of tamanyu carrier oil plus heliochrysum eo.
my skin has regenerated ..since using the eo's... incredibly well..
it may be that you are sensitive to one or more of the eo's your beautician used..or it may be that she used too much of the eo's per carrier oil..some eo's need to be used in smaller amounts thanother eo's..but the general formula is to add 15 drops of eo per 1 ounce of carrier oil.
why don't you ask her what eo's she used exactly...and how much of each she used per amount of carrier oil.... |
