i wasted my lips in my younger age..now i suffered wih pretty dull discloured lips..it is not lustre and look pretty dry.i think h probable reason is my carelessness in choosing the right lip balm and lipsticks..their low quality and harsh substance may put some damage to my lips..how can i reverse it?? |

Valmont Lip Repair will certainly help your current lip condition but I also wonder if you are using products on your face that may be a bit harsh for the lip area? |

For "dull" lip you can easily start using a lip scrub daily to a few times a week depending on your condition and preference.
You can buy outrageously expensive formulations or you can make your own. One of the easiest things to do would be to use some sugar with some oil from the kitchen (my personal favorite is coconut oil). You can then start experimenting by adding things like a drop of peppermint oil to 3 T of oil and 3+ T of sugar. This can be stored for a while in a jar or sealed Ziplock-style bag. You use very little so it last a long time. As you become more adventurous and your lips improve, you can find some vitamin E or other more exotic oils to add. You can also melt beeswax to change the consistency.
This will help to renew the circulation to your lips and encourage the blood vessels to come back to the surface. The one caveat is that you need to not use harmful products on your skin anywhere, especially your lips! Your body tries to build up a defense by withdrawing the circulation from the surface so that less is absorbed. This is commonly seen with things like Alpha Hydroxy Acids after a long term use. All the original benefits start to be overtaken by the defenses of the skin.
I hope that helps! |

Check out the Lips 2 Kiss:L2K thread. Or send Candace - the developer and owner - an email telling her your problem. She may have some products that will help you out.
I put Karin Herzog eye cream on my lips! |

To exfoliate, rejuvenate and protect your lips, you can use Retin-A or a retinol cream on your lips 2-3 times a week and vitamin C serum on your lips daily. That will certainly give them a healthy, pinkish appearance. |

Stop using any kinds of products composed with chemical things, eps lipsticks,it'll damage your lips.
Try to use some natural material, like honey,it could be usded as lip mask. Brushing the lip area with a soft tooth brush lightly after mask is a good choice to exfoliate. |

I swear by Dr. Hauschka lip balm and lip care stick. Keep my lips soft and moist and give them a lovely natural glow. |

Dont use Vaseline. Its petroleum based and inhibits the natural oils. REALLY dries out my lips. Took me years to discover this. |

I have been giving Septembergirl's suggestion a go, and I have to say after just a few weeks my lips do look more healthy. They are still dry in spots, but the color is nice! |

I agree with exfoliation - you can also use a microfiber cloth or toothbrush. Make your own exfoliator. Or buy an already created product (e.g., Sally Hansen, etc.)
Lips2Kiss is a great product if you're willing to invest in a systemwww.lips2kiss.com |

I agree with Bushy Valmont Lip Repair would be a good choice. Also, try to protect your lips when you go outsite, even if you have to put vaseline (which works for many people). |

vaseline is a shield and better than nothing and cheap! - but there might be better protective options - with sunscreen and moisturizers. |

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream is an old favourite of mine for dry lips. Past few years I haven't used it quite so much (I have about a million lip balms), but I've never been without a tube for maybe 20 years now. I have no idea why it makes my lips so soft, as it's basically petrolatum - perhaps the dash of salicylic acid?
Ingredients:
Petrolatum 56.8%,Lanolin, Mineral Oil, Fragrance, Salicylic Acid, Propylparaben, Castor Oil, Corn Oil, Tocopherol, BHT, Iron Oxides |

Slather your lips with lip balm, (I prefer to use all natural, non-petroleum based balm) let it soak in, perhaps overnight, and and then steam your face over a bowl of hot water and gently rub the dead skin away. Taking an oily omega supplement also helps keep lips smooth and moist. |

Kiehl's Lip Balm is definitely one of my favorite products for lips. Whenever my lips tend to get dry and crack, I simply apply a thick layer before bed and always wake up with soft and healthy lips the next morning! |
