Hi!! I've been having some problems with my blackheads and whiteheads on my nose. On some days it's not very obvious, but on other days it irritates me a lot till I feel like squeezing all of them out!
I've been using Clean and Clear deep pore cleanser. And I recently bought Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish stick. I think the Burt's Bees do work for me to a certain extent, but it can be a bit drying and the smell is pretty pungent but I wear it at night when I go to sleep so it's not a problem. I haven't bought anything else yet because I'm waiting for my Dermalogica/Decleor/Jurlique products to arrive from EDS.
What do you use to tackle those irritants on your nose?? |

I'd like to know the answer to this too, nothing has worked on mine. The best result I can get is by rinsing many many times after washing, that does make a difference. Sorry not to be more helpful |

I am not sure whether a blackhead extractor (such as the Tweezerman one) is something you may consider. One friend just recommended it to me. |

I use mud mask every now and then, and vit C serum everyday. It helps.
And also Asprin mask... |

I have that one and every time I've tried using it I ended up with a small hole (enlarged pore?) where the blackhead used to be. Until the blackhead comes back again. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. |

I am sorry to hear that, LadyStardust. I haven't used the extractor yet, but I recall some posts on MUA made suggestions about how to use the tool. |

I also found using the Aspirin mask helped a bunch. After 3-4 applications my blackheads are less noticeable. |

My facialist recommended PTR Acne Clearing Gel for blackheads on the nose. Even though I don't have pimples on that area, she says the high percentage of acids (AHA? BHA?) help keep blackheads from developing so quickly.
I've been using this for a month now, I started the day I had a thorough extraction. While my blackheads have been slow in development, I have noticed that the skin on my nose have developed a crepey-like texture. So I think it might just be too drying... |

I have used those Bior strips in the past, but unfortunately I try extracting them myself (which I know is horrible to do) |

I've used several products aimed to remove blackheads but I've found none to completely remove them. There are some products, such as, BHA serum, peel off masks, Finacea, Retin-A that can make the blackheads less noticeable though.
I too think that you should use the balckhead extractor with care. I occassionally use it but after steaming my face and only on blemishes that are easy to extract. Never use the extractor on the deep blemishes cos it will most definately lead to scarring. |

It's taken awhile, but the best thing for me has been strong masks/peels. My blackheads have been there *forever* -- that is, until EDS, I just thought I had large pores, but now I realize they are blackheads. But these are too deep for an extractor!
I've been alternating between Juice Beauty's peel and Dr. Sebagh's deep exfoliator. Over the weekend I tried PSF's pumpkin peel and it's fantastic -- nice and strong, so watch out with sensitive skin. I use a physical exfoliator every other day or so too -- usually a scrub or a microfiber washcloth. Things are really starting to look better, and nothing's been too drying thus far. Good luck! |

I‘ve gived up after trying all kinds of methods:mask, clarisonic washing machine, EsteeLauder or Dr.brandt poreless products.
At last now I use Tweezerman Skin Care Tool to solve the problem... once a week! Oh my god, I know it'll harm my skin. But I'm hopelessly, hating have a nose like a strawberry! |

What about Retin A or a Retinoid product like Green Cream etc. These are great for blackheads/whiteheads.. and remodel the skin. They can be somewhat iritating to some people, and the side effects of peeling and purging your skin isn't the most pleasant but the longer term results are amazing. Both require that you use a good sunscreen though.... to protect against UVA/UVB damage. |
