This is Schmo and I posted in December about purchasing the Obagi Line.
I finally bought from EDS in March, but I was scared and I finally started it the Nu-Derm regimen in June. At first, it was no reaction. However, when I purchased Retin A; still nothing. Then, I started peeling, then it started to itch. I was scratched so much that I had a sore, but it cleared up quickly. I wasn't red, but I peeled as though I had a sunburn. Overall, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Perhaps it's due to the Glycolic and Salicylic acid pads I was using.
I love the way my skin looks. As a person of color (Latin descent), I had a lot of hyperpigmentation because of my constant squeezing the pimples. Moreover, I wasn't wearing sunscreen. Now, I'm in my second phase and my skin on my face & neck have a much better appearance. Its almost as even as the rest of my body.
I don't think I need to be on the full 18 weeks, but I'll do it anyway.
Thanks for encouragement, RileyGirl. |

Hi Scmo
Congratulations on your new skin coming through. i thoroughly recomment that you stick with the full 18-24 weeks, because if you think your skin looks good now, wait until the end of it! |

Hey Schmo,
Welcome to the club! Sounds like you're having phenomenal success in a pretty short amount of time. Have a look through some of the current Obagi threads; there's a handful of us doing it right now. And you're right about Rileygirl: She has provided a lot of support, advice, and encouragement to all of us "Obagians."
Hope you have continued success! |

Now I feel guilty. I stopped using the NuDerm in May...my face was getting really red from being outside even for short periods. I didn't like having to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours just to walk to my car. I plan to start up again in the fall when the sun isn't so strong.
Good for you for hanging in there through the summer!!! |

No problem RileyGirl, and thanks to everyone else for your support.
Yes, I will stick it out for the 18 weeks. I'm just afraid that I'll lighten up too much. Now that I'm in my second phase, I don't use that much of the Clear. In addition, I use the Blender/Retin A every other night; as well as following the regimen.
Thanks again, everyone!

what is the best way to get info on Obagi. Are there treads on here for newbies to the routine? |

There are a ton of thread, mommydearest. Just use the search function at the top and search Obagi. You'll find all the info you could ever want! |

Checking in on you, schmo! Just want to see how your second cycle is coming along! I'm starting my 16th week tomorrow -- my plan is for 24 weeks. At this point, the whole Obagi thing is like second nature! |

Thank you, Kims
I'm doing well. The only thing is my neck is still itching and I'm putting the exfoderm forte to further peel it, but it isn't peeling as much as it did before. Oh well... since my skin on my neck is different, I guess it'll take awhile longer. However, GoldBond helps...
As I said, I just have to be very careful with the Clear because it along with the Retin A/Blender, has done wonders to my skin tone. I just put it on my forehead where my darkspots are; and the side of my face until it completely evens out.
You're almost done with yours Good for you!
Keep it the good work!
