I have used both these cleansers and find them to be a little different to other cleansers I have used.
Offects Exfoliating Cleanser
This cleanser is described as being more suited to oily or acne prone skin although it also incorporates Vitamin E and is also described as being “anti-aging”. The texture is a gel form containing polyethylene for exfoliation and has a slight fresh smell which is quite hard to describe. It is applied to wet skin, massaged for one minute, then rinsed thoroughly for 30 seconds. It does leave the skin very clean with no dry feeling at all.
I really like the fresh feeling after using this cleanser but I am not keen on what I call the “gritty bits” which are for slight exfoliation. They are quite gentle but I like to use a cleanser which I can also use around the eye area, but that is difficult to do with this cleanser because of the exfoliation grains. I also am not keen on Salicylic Acid in products as I think it is laziness on the part of the formulator to use this ingredient probably to help “unglue” the skin but I think that with today’s advanced research and technology, ZO could probably use more advanced ingredients to do the same job.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyethylene, Glycerin, Cocamide DEA, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Triethanolamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Spiraea Ulmaria Extract, Salicylic Acid, Niacin, Niacinamide, Ammonium Lactate, Sodium PCA, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-8, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Parfum, Hexyl Cinnamic Aldehyde, Chromium Hydroxide Green (CI 77289).
Offects Hydrating Cleanser
This really is a hydrating cleanser and I have found that it is very suitable to oily skin as well as drier skin. It cleans exceptionally well, even around the eye area with no irritation. It leaves the skin feeling quite soft and with no residue at all. It is applied to wet skin, massaged for one minute, then rinsed for 30 seconds. The texture is a cream which turns to a soapy texture when massaged onto the skin. There is a very faint nice smell but hard to describe what it is.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Glycerin, Sodium PCA, Urea, Trehalose, Polyquaternium-51, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycol Distearate, Stearic Acid, Acrylates Copolymer, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-8, Allantoin, Panthenol, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Parfum, Limonene, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamic Aldehyde, Red 33 (CI 17200), Yellow 6 (CI 15985).
With both these cleansers, products applied after, seem to absorb much quicker. This may be due to me following the directions and cleansing for the full minute, then rinsing for the full 30 seconds.
Between the two cleansers, I prefer the Hydrating Cleanser. In the past I have usually preferred cleansers suited to oily skins but I just don’t see the need for gritty bits in the Exfoliating Cleanser when ZO already have an Exfoliating Polish.
For the ratings:
Exfoliating Cleanser 3/5
Hydrating Cleanser 4/5 |

With oily skin it can be a surprise to find that the hydrating product tends to be the better choice. I found this with Karin Herzog professional cleansing cream; never in a million would I have thought it would work for me.
I am intrigued about the hydrating cleanser, good review. Thanks bushy. |

I love the hydrating cleanser. I use it in the morning and KH prof. cleanser at night. The ZO cleanser is creamy but works up into a nice lather that feels good on the skin and leaves my skin soft with no tightness. |

Interesting review, thanks!
I've been dying to try the line for a while now, but I just can't justify the price. Tell me please, is it worth it? |

I decided to finally "break the ice" and post a reply because I have learned so much valuable information on this forum.
I bought the Jumpstart Kit at the end of December. While I don't mind the "gritty bits" I find that the Exfoliating Cleanser leaves my dry skin a bit on the dry side. I am anxious to try the Hydrating Cleanser and plan to at a later date. I'm 53 with dry skin and sun damage from beaches and boating. Then menopause kicked in and it really slapped me in the face. I'm so tired of buying products that don't work and I'm hoping that the ZO along with Flex Effect and Ageless exercises will do the trick.
Is it worth the $$$$? It's a little too soon to tell but I can really feel the actives in these products. I also have two little pimples which I never have, so I think my cells are turning over. |
