I just returned from 10 days in St. Martin. This was the perfect test ground for my newly purchased Avene 50 Tinted Compact. I have very sensitive skin (I am 41) and am prone to breakouts, especially from sunscreen. Well, I am happy to report that the Avene compact agreed with my skin. I used it exclusively as my facial sunscreen.......with no breakouts. The tint evened out my skintone beautifully (I do have freckles and light melasma). Additionally, it is very well rated on the cosmetic safety database. The net result after using this product is a light facial tan. Unfortunately, however, when you suffer from freckling and melasma, no product can prevent darkening of such areas (especially when you are exposed to direct sun in the Carribbean). The only answer to prevent the darkening of melasma is sun avoidance. This product, however, will be excellent for incidental sun exposure in Western Pennsylvania, where I reside. I highly recommend it.
Now that I am back home, it is back to skin lightening with Obaji clear and Avage! Oh well! |
