This is a fairly new tool available at SkinStore, I was wondering if anyone knows much about it, has tried it or just has an opinion. It retails for $160 but they have frequent 20% off sales. I have been considering purchasing a dermaroller but wonder if this would be better for stimulating collagen to treat my acne scarring. Here's a little info from the site:
ANSR Light Therapy is two systems in one:
The ANSR red light treatment stimulates the production of collagens deep within the skin to heal, rejuvenate and improve skin tone for a radiant, smooth complexion. Fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, firmness is enhanced and a more youthful appearance is restored.
The ANSR blue light is a whole new way to treat ugly blemishes by killing the acne-causing bacteria that clogs pores. Five minutes twice a day, along with daily use of the ANSR DAY and NIGHT lotions, is all it takes to experience these dramatic results.
Any info or opinions would help, thanks! |

I wonder Fawnie, it must not be as strong or on the same quality level with the Baby Q as there is a $500 price difference...I'm completely out of my depth with these at home LEDs, and reading many of these posts on them is kind of like Greek to me. |

I personally wouldn't buy this device, because the LED area is too small for me. I'd prefer a bigger size like the lightstim or something.
I also don't see all of the specs, so not sure how storng this is.. |

The lab test that was done used 415nm (blue) and 633nm (red) wavelength outputs.
compare:
ANSR has 430nm (blue) and 660nm (red).
Tanda has 414nm (blue)and 660nm (red).
Lighstim 450nm-850nm (blue), 600nm-1000nm (red)
Quasar 420nm (blue), 600-1200nm (red/infrared)
Evis MD 415nm (blue) and 625-635nm (red)
Omnilux 415nm (blue ) and 633nm (red)
Wouldn't one be more sure that the device would work better if the numbers are consistent or closer to the studies used in the lab test?
So the Omnilux and Evis MD use the same wavelengths as the study. |

If you are looking to treat your acne scarring, I would go for the Dermaroller. However, if you want to treat active acne then a device with a blue light would be fine. If you want general skin rejuvenation I would go for the Anti Aging Lightstim, Baby Q, Pro Light or Tanda. Note that the AALS has amber lights which are thought to be more beneficial for anti-ageing. |

Doing more research I found the cheapest alternative to light therapy.
http://spatabulous.com/default.aspx
Spatabulous is having the Skin wand plus the Acne wand on sale for a total of $75.95 with free shipping.
I'm not sure what wavelengths their LEDs are using but their FAQ is very thorough and they include scientific articles. I think they use infra-red light (or a combination of red and infra-red) for their Skin wand. I sent them an email. |

The head of this model is quite small, with not many LED lights. Do your research thoroughly, you're probably better off spending more money and buying a more reputable brand - Just MHO. |

Are you talking about the ANSR or the Spabulous device? The Quasars will cost you a good $700. That's quite a lot of money. Great if you can afford it but if the cheaper brands work near as well for a fraction of the price, albeit, takes longer sessions (due to less LED lights) then they're perfect for those on a budget.
It seems that the Spatabulous has been given a thumbs up by a few members here but the ANSR needs more testimonials. |

I'm considering getting this for the rejuvenation benefits, does anyone have experience of using this? I've trawled the net for reviews and found some positive ones, but also negative, so any testimonials would be appreciated. Or is there any other LED system for a comparable ($200) price? |

Instead of purchasing the ANSR for $200 I would save an extra hundered and get the AAlightstim for $300 or I believe there might be a Prolight for around that price. The amber LED's really speed up the antiaging process. I've had my
AAlightstim for 18 months and wouldn't be without it! You might want to read some previous threads on how to pick a LEd device before you spend the $200 on one that does not have a lot of discussion on this board.

Which would be the best for anti-ageing? Is the Derma-Roller of little use? I don't have acne issues. |

As you can see from my signature, I have a bucket full of skin care gadgets - non of which is a magic bullet, but I use them all with undying dedication. I love the AALS (which has the amber lights) and you might also want to look at the Omnilux Nu-U which has infrared and red lights. I'm also a firm believer in using a Dermaroller. So just do some research and make the choices that seem right for you. |

Thanks for your recommendations. |

Could I just ask why you particularly want this device? |

Hello Keliu, i emailed ANSR to find out the wavelength of the blue/red light and they did confirm that they were 430/660nm respectively. Thats quite impressive. Was hoping it can help with spots and improve my skin in general. Would you be able to get it for me?? |

Sorry, but I'm in Australia too!! There are other reputable companies that manufacture LEDs who will ship to Australia - that's why I wondered why you particularly wanted the ANSR (which I have never heard of). |

Hi Keliu,
Can you tell me which device ships to Australia? I have contacted a few of the suppliers and they all said due to regulations they cannot ship to Australia.!! |

Both Lightstim and Baby Quasar ship to Australia. (Baby Quasar is also available here on EDS). |

Right before I went to a dermatologist I was having a lot of skin issues on my face with constant breakouts (for the record I'm 28 years old and never had acne as a teen).
I bought the ANSR and used it for about a month. I saw a noticeable improvement in the quality of my skin, no real reduction in any fine-lines, and minimal to moderate improvement in the breakouts. Once I started using retin-a I stopped with the ASNR.
However, in the last 2 weeks I've begun to use it again in the hope that it will work well in conjunction with the derma roller and the retin to speed up collagen production. After using the red light (I don't use the blue anymore) it's like I've had a nice facial--my skin is glowing, but not perfect. It's no miracle, but it does have some positive effects. |
