I was talking with a friend the other day who purchased a red LED light unit for anti-aging purposes. The unit has 30 LED lights in it and has a frequency setting and pulse/continuos setting. The frequency setting can be set at low, medium, or high.

She says that when the frequency is set to low the LED lights are dimmer and when it is in high mode they are brighter/darker. The information with the unit states that the different frequency settings provide the following ranges of nm's:

Low: 590nm-720nm
Med: 720nm-910nm
High: 910nm-980nm

So I was wondering if it is really possible for a LED unit to have the same LED lights that can be set at different frequencies to provide different ranges of nm's as stated above?

Thanks

Personally I have not the faintest idea. I would probably email one of the reputable LED companies like prolight or lightstim and see what kind of insight they have to offer.

There is a long thread here describing the different types of LED:
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=28996

What you are describing as low/medium/high is probably the different LED bulbs of amber/red/infrared. The amber wavelength is not visible as I understand it, so she is probably seeing the red and infrared as lighter and darker red. The BabyQ has all 3 types of bulbs in the device's head.

Yellow/amber (590 - 610) are unmistakably yellow/golden. Next comes orange wavelengths, then comes the red.. They are unmistakable... It's the infrared spectrum that are completely invisible to the naked eye..

If "yellow/amber" is in a light, you will see it loud and clear.
