Hi there.
I'm a guy and just getting into the whole skin caring thing 
I've got paula's choice 8% AHA gel and was thinking of ordering cellbone's C27 Ultra-C-Serum with 27% L-Ascorbic Acid.
Is that going to be too much for my skin? I don't want to scar from it.

| I don't think you will scar from either AHA or C, chico. I would start slowly and introduce just 1 at a time and see how your skin reacts before adding the other product in. I also would not use them at the same time, at least use on opposite ends of the end. |

I agree I dont think either would cause scarring but they can be irritating.
27% C is pretty strong IMO. I would start with a lower % and work up to the 27%. |

| AHA plus Ascorbic Acid makes for quite to acid combo and it generally not recommended to use both acids at the same time. But the concentration of ascorbic acid you are using is very high. One normally begins at max 15% and work up to 20, using a couple drops. You might be surprised how you react. (I am assuming you haven't done this). Collagen synthesis is said to be increased at any concentration of Ascorbic acid over 10%. Not sure such a high concentration is necessary and might burn you skin, although I agree with everyone else that it probably won't cause anything permanent. If anything you will compromise your skin barrier causing irritation and peeling and it will take a few weeks of TLC to get it back to normal. More is not always better and it will take several months of any concentration to build collagen. |

| It is not a no-no if your skin can handle it! Just try to introduce 1 new product at a time and see how your skin reacts. |

| AHA in the evening and Skinceuticals CE Ferulic in the morning is fine, because it's only 15 percent. Lot's of people do this. 27 percent is a whole different story. It is irritating alone let alone with an AHA. My main point was to not combine acids together. Of course, there are some sensitive skin types who might not even tolerate Skinceuticals but for most people it's great. |

Please do be careful with these two ingredients. If your skin do not have obvious problem, do not use them, because they are too too much.
Medical skincares may have bad results on your skin, which is the risk that you have to carry. So, if your skin is not in a bad condition, please do not try these. |
