| I am looking to purchase a good retinol cream and can't decide between these two. I wondering if anyone could post their experience with either of the two or both. I have had tried prescribed retinol and it is just to drying for me, so I figure an over the counter one will be best for now. If you use another brand that you like please post your experience with that, I'm open to other lines. Thanks in advance! |

Hi kdd, I can't make a comparison between PSF and Skinceuticals because I've only tried PSF 1% retinol. I love the ingredients in it, that's enough for me.
With that said, I don't notice any dramatic difference when I use either retinol (Vit A) OR Vit C serums.... But I continue to use retinol for long term anti-aging benefits, especially since I'm in my forties.
I recently decided to order Cellbone's retinol cream, if only because I get twice the amount for nearly the same price. But..... the ingredients in Cellbone's retinol cream aren't nearly as nice as PSF. I still haven't received the Cellbone (just ordered Monday) so I don't have any feedback for whether this irritates, dries, clogs pores, or anything else. I'll post a review after I've tried it for a month or so...
P.S. I have relatively resistant oily/combo skin, and haven't found PSF to be at all drying. |

44 – combo/oily skin with a tendency towards clogged pores. Thanks to EDS, tweaked my skincare routine and normalized skin… no more breakouts. PSF, silk powder, Janson Beckett, Cellbone, NIA24 are staples. |

| I am going to my doctor tomorrow to get retin a micro. It has the same ingredients as regular retin a without all of the irritation. I will report my results when I try it. I want to do before and afters. Very excited. |

| I found PSF 0.5 % Retinol Cream to cause major irritation and redness. I was only able to use it twice a week to let my face calm down and stop flaking in between applications. I have also been using a 0.25 % generic tretinoin cream, and it was far less irritating than the PSF formula. |

| Do you have to use a strong sunscreen when you use retinol cream? Do you have to use it only at night? |

Athena123 thanks for the review! Good to know it does not dry your skin out. As far as you not seeing a difference, from what I have read you should see some improvement from with a retinol cream. Maybe Cellbone will work better for you. |

Hi kdd, keep in mind my skin is combo/oily and pretty resistant... It's possible either form of retinol would be pretty drying to more sensitive skin.
As far as not seeing any dramatic results, I've also experienced this with Vit. C serums as well. None of them have given me any dramatic improvements. It could be beCAUSE my skin is oily/combo ----  I have very few wrinkles and only a couple of creases at the corner of my eyes.
Yet I continue to use retinol off and on because of the long term anti-aging benefits. For all I know, I'd look worse if I DIDN'T use it.
One problem I have that nothing has been able to improve -- large pores. Another gift of my oily skin, but if that results in fewer wrinkles... more power!
The only product I've used where I've seen actual improvement is AlphaDermaCE --- within a few months, I noticed dynamic forehead lines and neck lines decrease quite a bit, along with increase firmness around the jawline. |

Thank you for the input, I will keep all this in mind. I have combo skin, but sometimes it can get dry if the product is too harsh. Please let me know how Cellbone works out for you. I may put that one on my list. |
