Has anyone tried RAW Essentials by Carol Alt? The product line looks interesting.

Celebrity lines never seem to be what they propose to be. Maybe this one will be different. Remember, She is not a chemist, not a research biologist and using her face and name is pure marketing. And another way for her to get income.

I noticed they didn't provide an ingredients list.

In her defense, Carol Alt has been at the forefront of the "raw food" movement for many years. She lives the entire lifestyle, so, I'm assuming she had a lot personally invested in this product line... i.e, unlike a celebrity "face" to sell something.

I guess my first reaction was the opposite (I'm so cynical). That they were using the fact that she was into the raw food movement as a way to sell products. I thought she probably was just the "face."

Me too. Using her face and her raw food bend to sell. For me - If you want to do something altruistic go out and support the actual eating of raw foods. Try to get kids off of junk food. Use your face and your nutritional backbone to make positive change not line your pockets.

I never even thought about her using her face to sell products. I was looking at the ingredients list. If you click on a product you will see the ingredients. Some of the kits don't have the ingredients listed though.

She actually has a raw cookbook, website devoted to the raw lifestyle as well as being a guest speaker at many raw food movement events and festivals.

I agree, there are many times in which people get paid to pose and act like they cannot live without the product they are being paid to help sell... Knowing her background with this lifestyle, I can safely assume it is not the same situation.

A cookbook and a lifestyle do not make someone an expert in skincare. Even the name has the sound of an advertising gimmick - a good one at that.

I know she strongly endorses the raw food lifestyle and that is where she would do the most good. Endorsing what she truly knows and lives.

Endorsing skin care is a common celebrity fit. Consider this: She was using a different skin care line (or several) years and years before this one got put together.
How do you know she even uses it? Maybe her dermatologist or Plastic surgeon have her using something else.

However, please give the line a try and let us know Laughing I'd be curious. There is a thread here on another model-endorsed line and the reveiws were not good - even some of the people who sold it were not sounding impressed.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade. Just being practical. Good products will stand the test of time.

I really like Carol Alt and think she believes strongly in the Raw Food area. Aside from that, and about skin, whatever she's doing is amazing!
Isn't she at least 45? Okay, okay, she's a model. But wouldn't you like to know what her skin care routine is?

Maybe it is the raw food that is giving her that amazing skin? And good skincare over the years. (Maybe botox and some filler but who knows?). Yes, she's a doll, I agree.

I have no intention of checking the line out, I'm happy with what I use. I just wanted to state that I believe she's more personally invested in this line than some generic "face" some company decided to tack onto its product.
