I'd love to get some opinions on this. For many years now, I haven't been cleansing my skin in the a.m. At most, I've splashed some warm water on but that's it. I'm beyond breakouts, I cleanse with a non-drying cleanser at night and my skin is fairly dry. Since I've been on the forum, I've noticed that most people cleanse in the a.m. Is it beneficial to my type of skin? I still use my products, i.e. ADCE, moisturizer, eye cream, etc. I'm always concerned with drying it more than it already is. TIA |

I think once you start putting the Prep under your AD you will find that moisture is locked in.
Sounds like you are really dry. There is nothing wrong with not using a cleanser in the morning. Most of the time I just place a nice warm (not hot) cloth on my face and pat gently all over face and neck area....finish up with a nice toner. At present I am using Dr. H. toner. I have my eye on another one to try. Sorry, I am a hopeless addict (but looking good comes with a price). |

I only cleanse if I didn't get round to it the night before quick splash and rosewater does me otherwise |

Same here...just a bit of splashing some water on my face in the AM...if I wash it dries it out then it seems toproduce more oil during the day to compensate... |

There is no need to use a cleanser in the morning if you don't need it in my opinion. Just washing with water is very gentle. Some cleansers can dry you out or cause irritation, etc. it ain't broke, don't fix it. |

I do use a cleanser in the morning but mainly to get a bit of exfoliation going on (Dr H cleansing cream or the Dermalogica Microfoliant). I think just a warm face washer would be fine in the mornings though. |

You must clean your face in the morning!! Skin sheds cells overnight too and they have to come off. Can't imagine not cleansing in the morning. |

The Rosa y Fruta Cleanser & toner could be perfect. The cleanser is watery so it's a different method for sure (you use a cotton pad) but it does a good job. I love cleansers of all kinds but there are morning ones & night ones for my crazy skin & this is definitely a perfect morning one. |

Forgot to say, if your skin is that dry, use a glycolic acid to rapidly exfoliate surface skin cells. Moisturizers will work better and your skin will look much better. |

I read in so many places that just some warm water or a spritz. In the humid summer I cleanse in the morning, but only with something SUPER gentle, especially in winter when my skin is dryer.
My favs for the morning have been:
Thalgo delicate cleansing milk
Epiderm cleansing silk
Casa Rosa cleansing gel (this is a Japanese brand)
Epiderm oatmeal bar
If you feel like you "want" to cleanse, why not try a moisturizing cream cleanser? |
