Can I substitute full strength renova for retin a when I use it with the obagi blender or clear?I know most people use the retin a with the blender/clear but why not renova? |

I believe you can - I think renova is sometimes recommended for those who can't tolerate the retin-a.
maybe PM Rileygirl she our resident Obagi expert. |

Alley, you are a sweetie!
Lucyluc, I believe the reason why Retin A is preferred over Renova is due to Renova having a moisturizing base, and any form of moisturizer is a no-no on the Nu Derm system. That said, there have been a lot of people who have used Renova and had great results. My only advice if no Retin A micro - the Blender was meant to be used with the cream not a gel. Hope that helps. |

I agree. The whole point of Obagi is to peel. They only recommend the Tolareen if you are so dry you have to use it. Using anything with a moisturizer will slow down your progress. |

I used Renova for my whole 18 weeks on Obagi Nu Derm last year and I peeled just as much as if I had been using Retin-A. To me there's no difference whether you use Retin-A or Renova with Obagi. I am on maintenance now and still use the Blender mixed with my Renova 0.05% |
