How do any of you who use lumigan for eyelash growth dispense it?
When I got my first bottle, it was more rigid than I thought it would be, I couldn't see where the level was and ended up spilling it all over the place trying to get a drop on my eyeliner brush
I wasted quite a bit of it by doing this, I thought about cutting the top off so I could dip my brush in, but didn't know if that was unsanitary and I ran out before making the final decision anyway. Does anyone else cute the top off or put it in another dish? |

It comes in an eye dropper bottle, it should be very easy to dispense the product. I have no problems squeezing 2-3 drops on a Qtip every time. I find that more sanitary. HTH |

I just started using Lumigan & I'm re-using the brush from my old Jan Marini lash stuff (it's been empty for a while - more recently used Revitalash, old formula). So far, I don't have a problem just getting one drop on the end & dipping into that with the brush. I've thought about emptying the whole bottle of Lumigan into the old Jan Marini applicator, but I'm afraid I would waste some if I did that... |

I also just squeeze the bottle enough to get a little bead to come out of the tip, then use my old RevitaLash brush (any super-skinny brush or implement will do) to dip into that and apply it. |

I find it easy enough to leave it in the bottle. I use a fine brush and find that one drop does both eyes! I just put one drop into a small, dry container. I have been using it for 2 weeks and my eyelashes are longer already! |

lol, ok, so apparently I'm the only clumsy one on here....or my bottle tip was messed up. The second I tipped it, several drops came out. I found it impossible to get just one, I even tried sticking the brush up to the hole to try to stifle the flow.
maybe my next bottle will be different. |

When you take the top cap off you will find that the dropper cap you see, easily pops off..
(just pop it out with the point of a scissor or knife.)
Now I just use a thin liner brush dipped in the bottle to apply... This way doesn't use anywhere near a full drop, so it lasts quite a long time.. (Dip in for each eye!) Then just replace outer cap.
I'm still working on the same bottle since July and I use it 3 times per week. |

Aha! Good one. My Lumigan came the other day, and I've been frustrated by how to use minimal amounts. When you say replace outer cap - you do mean to leave the dropper cap out completely, don't you? I suppose you'd need to be sure to store the bottle upright between applications... Thanks. |

I do switch containers. I get Lumigan into small transparent container, and use tiny synthetic brush for applications. This way Lumigan lasts for ages, and I can easily see remaining Lumigan amount in a transparent container. |

LUMIGAN® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is supplied sterile in opaque white low density polyethylene ophthalmic dispenser bottles and tips with turquoise polystyrene caps in the following sizes:
2.5 mL fill in 5 mL container – NDC 0023-9187-03
5 mL fill in 10 mL container – NDC 0023-9187-05
7.5 mL fill in 10 mL container – NDC 0023-9187-07
Storage: LUMIGAN® should be stored in the original container at 2°to 25°C (36° to 77°F).

I know that Lumigan is highly susceptible to degradation and also bacteria.. I'm thinking the opaque bottle could help in this regard. |

Kassy - I did not notice this disclaimer about original container storage, and have been using Lumigan in a transparent container for eight months or so without any negative side effects. I will keep on using it as I do now, but it is good to be aware about the manufacturer warning. |

I tried this way last night, but my brush was too short - so I had to tilt the bottle! Very precarious - but I don't think I spilt any. I then put the dropper cap back on as well as the outer cap.
lucyluc the info. leaflet that came with my Lumigan states that they only half fill the bottles so that there isn't an overflow when you squeeze the drops out.
Actually, this is all very confusing to me. The bottle states it contains 3mls. Kassy_A's post above says it's 2.5ml - but the bottle itself looks like a 10ml size to me. It's identical in shape and size (but different color cap) to my contact lens eye drops bottle. And 2.5-3mls certainly isn't half of 10mls... |

Did anyone notice the part about "highly susceptible to degradation and bacteria"?
I think changing containers or dipping anything into the vial isn't a good idea.
I apply a tiny drop to a clean mirror and use a pointed Qtip to apply along the lash line and brows, then throw the Qtip away. I'd rather use more Lumigan than risk an infection!
That's being penny wise and pound foolish. |

fawnie - I was not aware about infection because of changing containers, and did not get any infection or any negative reaction for the entire eight months duration I have been using Lumigan from a different container. Having Lumigan in a transparent and more suitable for applications container is convenient for me. I am not advocating for starting switching the containers, just writing about my personal experience. |

This is an example of a transparent container convenient for eyelash applications. I use a container similar to this one:

I think I discovered the best method for me last night.
I'm extrememly near-sighted when I take my contact lenses out, and found that all I had to do was tip the bottle carefully and squeeze very slightly until a tiny amount appeared - which I lifted straight off with a small brush without even touching the bottle tip! There are benefits to being able to see very closely.
I did this several times successfully (doing lashes and brows) and am sure that I didn't even use one full drop.
I feel happy about doing it this way -having looked at all sorts of other methods first. |

Darn it, the picture doesn't show. Anyway, it's the lipliner applicator from Lips2Kiss. |
