i'm quite excited to get one sonicare these day. but i found that every time after using it, the skin membrane inside the mouth starts to peel off. it looks like dead skin tissue. firstly, I thought it may happen for first few times. but it seems always happen! I'm worrying if this will make my oral skin sensitive?
should I talk to sonicare custom service? |

I advise you contact the service. This is a very essential problem. |

That happens to me, but only if I use the Sonicare with a whitening toothpaste or one with gritty particles in it. I use it with regular non-tartar control crest paste now and I don't have that problem. |

That used to happen to me, but I wasn't using a sonicare. I looked it up and this is the answer to a similar query:
"I do not think it is anything serious. It sounds like the top part of the oral mucosa is exfoliating for some reason." |

Wylone - This excessive exfoliation of your tissue may be related to the type of toothpaste you use. Whitening toothpastes will do this as will the All-in-one (whitening, flouride, tarter control all together in one paste). I would change the paste you are using to something a little more basic and see if it improves. |

Another thought - Some mouthrinses will cause the sloughing to occur also. Crest Pro-health will in some folks. Listerine will also. Just cut back usage.
A good toothpaste rec is Colgate Total (no, I'm not a rep). I'd suggest the basic Colgate Total with fluoride. Or you could try Tom's of Maine. |

I agree with all the posts suggesting it's the toothpaste that's the culprit.
I have an electric toothbrush and I have no problems with it, but if I use a mass marketed toothpaste, that is for tartar control or whitening (Crest, for example), my gums will peel like crazy.
I use Tom's of Maine toothpastes; even the tartar control and the whitening ones do not cause any gum peeling. |

WCSmurfette, do you feel that Tom's of Maine toothpaste sufficiently cleans your teeth? |
