This stuff rocks! It brightens without being glittery, feels GREAT on, and the packaging is really clever: has a shaver that you turn to control the amount of powder released, so you don't waste it or get it all over the place.
At first I thought I'd have to return it, because I couldn't get it to look like anything except a nice, quality product that just sat on my 'mature' skin and made my pores and lines noticeable. BUT, I was determined to get this to work, because my face always feels greasy when I wear liquid foundation, even if it's oil free. So, since the powder is water-based anyway, I wet a stippling brush, and buffed down the powder. And it worked, perfectly.
So, for those who, like me, thought that powder was death for mature skin, or who, like me, need coverage AND hydration, but don't like the feel of liquid or cream foundations, this is a pretty excellent, hi-tech alternative. |

Hope it works for you, Emma. Their powder only comes in 4 shades right now. Runs a little on the darker side, so you might need one shade lighter than you'd normally wear. Also might want to check out Guerlain's Parure Compact Foundation with crystal pearls. |

Thanks for the great review. I also looked at this product, but they didn't have my shade in stock at the time, so I moved on--maybe it's time to move back and give it a second look. My skin is slightly oily, so I'm concerend with mineral products sitting in my pores--sounds like this doesn't happen with Halo. If I recall correctly, there was gold in the ingredient listing...did you encounter any kind of reaction to this ingredient? |

I haven't had any reactions so far, and even though my skin is less oily than it used to be, I do still get oily on forehead and chin. So far it's been okay, but I've only used it a few times.
I've got pretty large pores, too (sigh), and as long as I buff it with a damp brush, the effect is much better. |

Forgot to mention that the powder comes with a sample of their primer, and a little goofy brush that's slightly stiff - for better application maybe.
PinkLeader, great name, btw |

Hey health2u...a big thank you for this review. I bought Halo a week ago (in Light for my light-med skin tone) and I love it! My skin has been on the oiler side lately and I needed something to get me through the day and boy, does this stuff do the trick. I'm really happy with it and wanted to make sure I gave you a shout out! |

Thanks for this review...I've always wanted to try Smashbox products, but didn't know anyone that used them. I'll definitely have to try this new mineral product! |

I really didn't find Smashbox Halo Perfecting Powder was a great product for my skin due to the mica it contains. I purchased the "light" which was the correct colour match but I noticed that it either looked amazing or horrid, depending on the lighting of the room. Too bad for me as it really seems to be a great product. |

I love this powder too. I cannot use a liquid foundation and this works well with my aging skin. Does not go into fine lines at all. |

I am not really a powder person, but this is better than most powders. I find the coverage to be light, and do need a primer under it or it shows my pores. |

i bought this in light after a sales girl raved about it. She said the cover would be sufficient on its own as a foundation. However i found it wasn't enough for me on its own but i do like to wear it at weekends when i don't want to wear 'full' foundation. Sometimes i dust a little over foundation as a loose powder but i prefer Laura Mercier's loose powder for setting foundation. |

I am using a smashbox kit which is the limited edition in 2008. Although the eyeshadow seems to be very regular with other brands, I really like the cheek color and the high-light powder. This kit is very cool, although a lot of eye shadows were damaged when I received it. This is the first item of smashbox I have ever owned. |

I really, really love the Smashbox, but for those of you who have trouble with the mica in this product, or who can't get the right color or coverage, I also posted a review about Guerlain's Parure Compact Foundation with crystal pearls. Might be a better choice for some people. (including me)

Well, I like Guerlain's Parure Compact Foundation, especially the fabulous case. But, I think japanese foundation seems to be more delicate, just like cle de peau, and impress.
