Has anyone ever added their own Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide to a foundation or moisturizer to get/boost the spf of the product? I have a department store foundation that I really love but it doesn't have an spf and I was thinking of buying zinc oxide (from Garden of Wisdom or one of the other sites) and mixing it in to the foundation myself for spf.
Has anyone ever done anything like this to a product? |

Hi, I've added Zinc Oxide to my facial moisturizer, but I'm not sure about increased SPF. Would like to know, though. |

But your goal was added spf, right? How did it turn out? Gloppy? Smooth? Where did you buy the zinc oxide from?
Thanks - |

Hello, Girlzmommie, Yes, I bought zinc oxide thinking it could increase the spf of my moisturizer. Specifically, I bought a tube of diaper rash cream that said "with zinc oxide". It was cheap, so I thought I'd give it a try. It didn't make my moisturizer gloppy. I just don't know how effective it is. |
