| I've been treating hyperpigmentation with 4% hydroquinone with great results so far. I want to get spray tanned for an upcoming trip, but am worried that the DHA that the tanner uses will make my hyperpigmentation worse again. In the past, I have used self tanning lotions which have made the hyperpigmentation worse. The spray and the self tanning lotion both seem to use DHA as the active ingredient, so I'm not optimistic, but am hoping that someone has experience with this. P.S. hyperpigmentation is caused my excess melanin production, and DHA is not supposed to effect melanin, so I'm confused as to why the lotions made the hyperpigmentation worse in the first place. | I am going to bump this question as I am curious to know the answer. I am using .05 retin-a and Paula's Choice skin lightener which contains hydroquinone 2% and glycolic acid. I just started indoor tanning yesterday (just the body, not the face!!) for my trip to Germany next month and want to use a sunless tanner on my face to catch it up to my body color....would this be a no-no when using these products?? Or do I just stop using the skin lightener while using the self tanner? This is a one time shot and strictly for my trip, just a bit of color nothing drastic...I don't ever tan indoors or out:) Also, if I can use it, when would I apply it? Morning before all other products? Or sometime mid day? |
