Today, we choose our president, although we may not know the outcome for days! I am so happy its here, but NOT because I'm so anxious to vote (I am anxious to vote too). It will mean the end of those flippin' commercials on the t.v., which are constant and relentless...and the phone calls. I receive at least 4 recorded calls a day if not more. Rolling Eyes The latest was from Caroline Kennedy (lovely of her to call)! Living in a "swing state", we have been deluged with political propaganda from both sides. I'd never talk politics here but I'm just glad Nov.2nd has finally arrived.

Caroline Kennedy? Hmmm I didn't get a call from her. Not that I would have really listened to what she had to say, but I'd like to be able to say she called me once. Smile

That's the only brother that Caroline has/had...obviously I'd like to have received that phone call prior to the day of that fateful plane crash!

I AM TOO!! There ARE important issues but once they become politicized, I trust what no one says! Mad

Off to the polls tonight. Dread the longs lines......We are so blessed to have the freedom to vote. Hopefully, every American will vote today.

I am proud to be an American

I'm in Canada and half my tv stations are US...I can't get away from it

AND because the preliminary polls are so close both sides have already said they will demand a recount.

I predict AT LEAST another 4 days of it!

Rolling Eyes All I can say from the Canadian perspective is, "What a show!" I am glad that the U.S. election is today too, as I am tired of hearing about all of it. I don't even own a t.v., and am fortunate to not have to be bombarded with endless coverage. However, it's always on the radio and in the papers. Canadians are interested in the outcome of today's U.S. Federal Election, as this is our neighbour, and closest trading ally. However, without saying too much, know that the general concensus of most Canucks is that we're wanting someone new in the Oval Office.

In fact, according the news, more ex-patriot Americans (living in Canada) have voted via absentee-ballot in this election, than in any other in history. Some are actually using their U.S. birthright or dual-* spam *, and voting for the very first time, just to make their vote count in D.C.

Canada held a federal election this past summer. Unlike the U.S., we have more choices, and more candiates to choose from. Without confusing you (outside of Canada), just know that our government is based on a parliamentary system. We have a prime minister, not a president. http://pm.gc.ca/eng/default.asp He is a "Liberal"; left-wing, though not extreme left-wing.

I didn't vote. I wasn't able to, as I was away during the election, and the day that pre-polling stations were open, I worked, and then caught a plane. My Mum can't vote; she's been in Canada since she was two, but has yet to become a Canadian citizen. She's still a British Subject/landed immigrant. Whatever.

Politics and religion are not good topics of discussion on a skincare Forum ... or a good-conversation amongst people anywhere. Everyone has opinions. It can get ugly.

All I can say is that upon hearing about this morning's problem's in Pennsylvania, that I do not doubt that the U.S. will see a repeat performance of the fiasco that occured in 2000. Voters can vote in a democratic society, but it doesn't always mean that their votes will be counted, or be worth their weight. Money & corruption seem to be more-powerful Confused [/i]

Well, I just voted. Feels good, always does, even if its far from what our "founding fathers" had in mind. I'm sure we'll not have a results for quite some time unless its some sort of landslide which is next to impossible. I've heard that the lawyers are lined up in many states already. I hope someday we move away from electoral votes and go with the popular vote so that each person's individual vote really does count. Smile

...and now i'm going to order some new skincare products! Very Happy

I am sick and tired about these USA elections and I will thank God when it's over!! Im not an american citizen and yet we are chocked with this election circus in the media. I don't care who the bloody **** will be the next president of the USA, what will happen will happen as we (non-american citizen) done have the right to decide about american politics, unless I get the right to vote Rolling Eyes .
Sorry, I just needed to let that out Very Happy !

Have a nice day you all and I hope the voters will vote for some sanity and humanity in their leader.

Just got back from voting - man, what a turnout. We're in that all important state of New Hampshire - we're little but we pack a big punch! - so we'll see if Georgey Baby gets back in or if Kerry gets the call. Either way, I'm nervous.

I've had a lot of famous people call me too - Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox gave me a jingle as did the current President himself, his lovely wife, and even Ben Stein....it'll be nice to not have the phone ring for a while.

Off to watch the tube. I miss the world series! I can't believe it'll be a week tomorrow since my Sox won it!

You might be waiting for a while; it takes a long time to process immigration. Better make-due ...

It was so much more pleasant to see both Kerry and Bush being gracious in their speeches today and calling for unity. Hopefully, that will happen, at least to some degree.
