Anyone know of any powder, pressed or not that won't exaggerate fine lines round the eyes?
Nothing like a nice powder to set your make up but it looks weird if you matte down your face but have dewy looking eyes Very Happy

Hi Eve

I always use Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil to set my make up. It never cakes in the lines around my eyes and makes my face look flawless, it lasts so long, you only need a tiny bit..

Dear Eve, instead of trying to cover up your wrinkles, have you tried getting rid of them? My mother has used products such as Genie and Lift(from as seen on TV) and these worked well for temporarily getting rid of wrinkles. However, I recently purchase Hydroderm for my mom and this gel works really well. This product is supposed to fade wrinkles instantly but provide lasting results. As indicated, it does provide instant results, I was pretty amazed.

No really...it appears that companies are now coming out with fast acting wrinkle products. I previously purchased Genie and Lift from as seen on TV but these products only provide temporary results. On the other hand, I think Hydroderm works like Botox, except there are no side effects and it is a gel, not an injection. The results are supposed to be permanent. I was skeptical at first but their website says that Hydroderm is made by a real MD doctor, so I bought one for my mother. We have been seeing really dramatic results. I really like the fact that this product is not temporary.
You should try it because right now, they are giving them out for free.

I second Gucci's recommendation for the BE Mineral Veil -- it's about the sheerest powder I've ever used and it never ever sets in your fine lines!

Aloette has a pressed powder with Gatiline in it which does not leave the skin looking or feeling dry. Its talc free. Pur Minerals is another one.

Isn't hydroderm that one that was all over the internet? I almost ordered it but noticed that right before you place an order you have to agree to have the product 'auto shipped' monthy and they charge your account for the first shipment 7 days after they SHIP your free stuff. I then googled to see if there were any posts on anyone trying it and so many people said they had MAJOR problems with the company. People have been trying to get their money back for MONTHS and some are thinking of suing the company. A lot of people on that thread said they has an allergic reaction to the product or it did nothing. Just a warning to look into it more before ordering. (I've never used the product so I have no idea if it works on some people.)

I have never used Hydroderm either nor have I heard any good reviews that I can recall on this forum. I have, like Lily, heard that people have had many problems with their free trial.

Unie, the ingredient that is considered a Botox alternative right now is Argireline. I do not believe Hydroderm has this in it. Argireline is a wrinkle relaxant.

Like Eve, I don't think anything will erase wrinkes instantly.

Hi,
I'm using MAC Select Sheer pressed powder right now and I love it. It is great with a slight coverage and does look to heavy or cake. I would check into MAC, they also make some beautiful loose powders too.
Also love their blushes (cream & powder), shadows & lipstick!!!

Lily, I am not sure about the customer service aspect, but I had no problem with canceling my membership. It appears that once you order your free sample of the Hydroderm, the Hydroderm company automatically sets up an account for you and emails you your account info.. If you want to cancel your membership so that you will not receive any more products, what you do then is log into your Hydroderm account. On your account webpage, there is a link "Discontinue Program" which you click and this will send you to a webpage where you will be able to immediately cancel your membership.
Therefore, after receiving my sample, I never had any hassles from Hydroderm with further shipment.

Winnie, you are right, I read the ingredients in the the Hydroderm and there is no Argeriline. However, when I said that Hydroderm may work like Botox, I meant that similar to how the product ingredients get under the skin(when the Botox is injected), Hydroderm company advertises that their product collagen also gets under the skin.
Hydroderm advertisement says that hydroderm uses a patented technology which allows the collagen to penetrate the skin when the product is applied. Therefore, unlike other marketed collagen products, Hydroderm provides long lasting results, similar to Botox.

Unie:
In your post you said you cancelled your membership? Why when you said you loved the product?

There was also someone else on another thread who said they had a severe allergic reaction to the product.

Unie: Do you work for the hydroderm company?

Dear Lily, no I do not work for Hydroderm. I do like their products but I cancelled because the cost is a little high and I do not want it shipped to me every month. However, I probably will order again in the future.

I also like the BE mineral veil very much for the eye area (and all over the face for a "finish"). I've also had good results with the Jane Iredale loose powder, but with JI, you have to be a bit more careful not to use too much, whereas the Mineral Veil is so lightweight, you don't have to be as careful with it.

With either JI or BE, you naturally have to "tap" the brush to get the excess out of the brush before you apply it.
