Anyone has this? I work on the computer all day long and at the end of the day, my eyes hurt from staring at the screen for prolonged hours... Right now i'm sitting in my room wearing sunglasses while I'm typing!!
I just put some drops but they still hurt =( |

If you can rest for a while say 10 minutes with a couple of cotton pads soaked in witch hazel over your eyes it will be nice and refreshing for your eyes. A couple of tea bags left to go cold are also good. I get irritated eyes from using the PC and from allergies and find these help. I prefer to avoid over use of eye drops as I worry that the eye might become too dependent on them.
Also you could try palming the eyes; http://www.seeing.org/techniques/palming.htm
Hope this is useful! |

My eye Dr. highly recommends that you take breaks. I can't remember her time frame. But at least every hour. You need to shift your eyes away from the screen and focus on various targets at varying distances.
We blink less when using a computer... so the eyes dry out... and for some reason you almost train your eyes to only focus at the distance you sit from your screen.
Google eye exercises for excessive computer use...
Good luck! and Take care of those peepers! |

Yes, I work on the computer all day long, and my eye doctor recommended the same thing. She also recommended eye drops to help with the dryness. |

funkydory, all great suggestions, and in addition, get an anti-glare screen to put over the monitor. These REALLY help. Also a big fan of the Similasan eye drops. AND, a product called Nature's Tears Eye Mist. It's a fine mist that you spray on your face with your eyes open. So so soothing! I use it all the time at work and especially during allergy season! |
