Does anyone know if wearing an eye mask is as effective as sleeping in a totally dark room? They say that sleeping in a totally dark room is very good for the body to replenish growth hormones. I'm not sure what you meant by sleeping mask. Was it for the skin? Harriet |

I have used Hibermate masks for years. Mine are several years old with their ear parts long ago removed when I slept on my side. The masks are still very effective after many washings and general abuse.

Do you have to change them out after a while? Right I'm using those cheap ones from airplanes and they usually last about a month before I'll have to throw them away because they get too loose. |

No, they're very durable. Mine are at least five years old and have been through lots of washes. (I don't put them in the dryer.) They are secured with Velcro, so they're adjustable.

Ok, I'm also looking for some decent earplugs since I'm going to work night shifts soon, and I would need some good sleep after working nights:). Any suggestions? |

I find the ones made of was are the best as they fit better and you can mould them to fit your ear. Chlorapax sp? are good. They are hard to find in Canada where I live. They cut out a wide range of sound. good luck. good sleep is so important. |
