I'm just about to put in an order for some biotin from Vitacost. They have a potency of 5000mcg. I remember reading most people here are taking 2500-3000mcg. I've been on only 300mcg, before I found out it was much too low. So the question is, is 5000mcg too high? Is there any side effects from taking high doses of biotin?
TIA. |

Biotin is water soluble so whatever your doesn't use will be excreted.
I have had good results with 3,000 mcg but it does take several weeks. |

I have been taking 5000 mcg for several years, and have no side effects. I take it for hair and skin. I do like the vitacost website, good luck. |
