I was about to dye my hair using Ion Color Brilliance and the hair dye part - the stuff that comes in the metal tube came out of the tube just fine at first then the stuff towards the end came out darker with some black spots. It started turning dark purple right away; the purple color is normal but the darker parts are bothering me. I checked the box and tube and can't find an expiration date. Has anyone seen this happen to them? Considering still using it because I desperately need to take care of my roots, but Googling to try to find info and can't find anything.
If anyone's seen this before, please let me know! Thanks! |

| I finally found an answer! If hair dye comes out of the tube black, it's old and the composition is off. I also read it can result in burns. It seems odd that an answer was so hard to find, I'm sure it's happened to lots of people. I saved the dye and I'm going to see if Sally Beauty Supply will replace it. |
